I'm going to have to try this whole BMF over the badges and lettering gig. This looks truly amazing so far Steve.

Oh HELL yeah!!! I feel like I've missed the best movie of the year! You've really done some amazing work so far Art! WOW man! -
Good job on that dash. Man I just dunno if I could have the stones to put those "KC" lights on the front of this beauty. That's just me though. Looking forward to more.....

It's like a good book that you just can't put down Francis. Looking forward to the next update already. -
A true beauty in every sense of the word. Details, paint....EVERYTHING pal. What did you use for the yellow? That's a really nice shade.

Gonna go check the finished shots up in Under Glass. A real treat to watch come together.

Sorry for the late reply Francis. Thanks for tagging along. I just finished the interior up this morning. The door panels were giving me a lot of trouble at first in regards to painting the two tone effect but I managed a way around it. Just remove the hard to mask area. and then mask and paint. Finished interior:

Love it! Love it! Love it!! Can't get enough of this build Francis. -
This looks too cool to pass up. Will be following as well.

These are beautiful cars to start with and you're doing a killer job of replicating one. These used to be my favorite cars in high school. Totally bad a$$!!!

Wow!! That IS a different looking suspension. Great work so far Dann and thanks for the update. Been looking forward to this one to resume for a while now.

That is looking very well Tim. I'm really looking forward to seeing all these parts for the induction come together. Gonna try to get back on my own Maverick this week. Took a little time off from it to build a much simpler and less detailed build just to have a sense of accomplishment. Will be continuing to watch this one.....

Thanks Andre!

This is looking great so far Steven. In regards to shows...I did see once where a fella had brought his VERY NICELY BUILT 1/32nd scale HK B-17G to a show and a parent wasn't watching a kid close enough and those little fingers wandered over to one of the props and tried to give it a "flick" to spin the prop and away she went. I guess that's the risk that gets taken when we put our builds "out there" but it still hurts.

Nicely done.

Paint looks great on this. I've always had an interest in these vans. Looking forward to more. -
Thanks Dann. Ok folks. It's been a couple of weeks since my last progress post but I'm trying not to "update" everybody to death. I've been payin' a lot of attention to pictures and trying to get it as close the those and also from what I can remember when I used to work on these. I managed to acquire a Camaro kit which had the dual outlet muffler and will be using that on this build instead of the single outlet one. The muffler is not glued into place yet so it is just there for display purposes at this point. I'll be stripping the chrome plating from the assembly, cleaning it up and modifying it so that both pipes will lay in the right place at the right angles as well as drill out the ends of the pipes to hollow them out. I used lots of different black tones by way of gloss, semi gloss, satin and flat finishes as to give the chassis some depth and more detail. The differentials always seemed to rust so I finished it up in a semi rusted state in what would be a "soon after new" look the way it would look after the car had been on the road for about a month or two. The heat shield just in front of the differential was achieved by the use of Matte Aluminum Bare Metal Foil and the fuel tank & spare tire areas were given a coat of darker gray to add contrast. cleaned the wheels up, added the WS-6 center cap decals and coated them with a light coating of Tamiya Smoke to get rid of the toy chrome look. I also gave the tire tread areas a light sanding to give 'em that "road wear" look (uh-oh....looks like I might've missed one ). Pretty happy with these. I'm really glad that I chose to lower the car some because there would've been a whole LOT of air between the tires and the top of the wheel openings. I might try to lower the front just a smidgen more to get it where I want it....

That's one superb looking ride right there. Wow!!
-
Looking good so far Andre. I don't see many of these being built.

What a good looking car this is. Everything is balanced just right. Engine detail, paint & stance work, wheels/ tires...the whole shebang! You've got my respects buddy.

Man that'll work right there. Looking forward to seeing some more progress. I'm still on the Maverick although I took a small break from it after that shifter gig. I've got a much simpler 1998 Trans Am build going on over in the Model Cars WIP section right now. Had to build something I could actually make some progress on. lolol.
