  1. Thanks guys.I knew I could count on this forum for the info I needed!
  2. I have a need for some lengths of styrene sheet with a linear curve to them.I want to replicate in 1/25 th sale is about 20' of sheet metal that transitions from flat on top to flat on the side like a travel trailer roof to a flat side sheet.I am considering heating sheet styrene sheet with a heat gun then wraping it around a 1" or so wooden dowel rod then cutting to final shape.Have any of you done this with any success?I don't really want to try heating in water as I'm sure I'll burn myself(again). I don't own a heat gun yet and wanted to ask around before investing in another tool I don't really need or use. Thanks in advance
  3. Wow!What a product.I love the fact that it is waster soluble meaning super easy smoothing and clean up.I will be adding this to my arsenal of "stuff" right away. Thanks for sharing such a useful link!
  4. I like what you did here.I personally think reflection paintings are facinating. Thanks for sharing.
  5. Great look for a seldom built kit!
  6. Lookin good with the wood!
  7. I love this thread! This is without a doubt the first four door chop most of us have ever seen. The side profile reminds me or a Chevy HHR article I saw and copied about a choppd HHR Bonneville LSR vehicle.I like the grounded stance,it compliments the overall"Frankencab" look.Tanks for sharing.
  8. Yes Please do something different!I would like to see some do one of these as a fastback like the 46,47 and '48 Chevys, low, slick and skirted.Any takers out there or possibly one already under construction? If so,please share them with us.
  9. Thus one of my favorite says"duct tape can't fix stupid, but can muffle the sound it makes".
  10. Trust me when I say that Norm Vebber(R&M) has the Best resin parts available.Thin, flash free, accurate and he offers a ton of really cool vintage speed equipment items not available anywhere else.
  11. If you are looking for some sort of chrome grille material to fill the rearvoiud you might consider looking at the grilles from semi truck cabs.If you don't have something like that available an ad in the "wanted"section of these forums will surely turn up what you need. Thanks for sharing your project and the original inspiration for it with those who are non-gamers.
  12. The body mating looks very natural.I'd like to see one done as a street rod.I'd ad one to my list of stuff i would like to build but that list is already longer that I will ever live to see the end of it.
  13. This is all looking very clean, straight and right on the mark styling and engineering wise.I personally am glad that you left the chassis screws in place as an omage to it's "58-ness".
  14. I would be personally interested in getting a few sets of those Woodlites from you if that ever becomes a reality.Thanks.
  15. Nice WIP.Great to see a real classic kit being saved. Thanks for sharing.
  16. Very neat idea for a vintage Ford.No need to make the stock appearing paint too smooth as these were painted at the factory with paint streaming from a 1" hose then smoothed out later. The unequipped version is something I never knew existed. Thanks for sharing.
  17. Great build and thinking outside the box creativity. The rust, dust and wear are very appropriately done. Thanks for sharing!
  18. Thanks Richard. The bolt detail paint adds a lot of reailsm.
  19. I suggest you weather the fabric covered roof section to a similar state as the body,If the body is worn and ratty the roof should have a similar state of wear.Good looking project, thanks for sharing.
  20. Question. When these lights are delivered from Shapeways are they ready to paint and install, and if you don't mind sharing, what do they cost? Thanks!
  21. I like this.Is that a JF casting?
