  1. Thanks for posting these. Some seldom seen vehicles in that mix.
  2. Enjoy the forums. What do you build?
  3. Nice to see this seldom seen kit built so nicely. Thanks for posting it.
  4. I saw some of the real ones cruising Ocean Blvd in Myrtle Beach last summer. To complete the look you might consider loading the rear end with huge spare tires on matching rims like the pickups I saw.:-\
  5. Can someone post a link for these wheels please?
  6. Some really interesting finishes and works in progress here. Thanks for sharing the and enjoy your retirement.
  7. Great thread. In those MPC days we didn't have have resin or 3D parts to add to our models. Anything scratch built was looked at with awe and amazement. Some build sheets these days look like a page from an aftermarket suppliers catalog. IMHO those same parts produced by the builder himself should be noticed by the contest judges and taken into consideration. The larger the scale chosen the higher the standard should be. Just my humble opinion of course. As to the consists I chose to enter today...if what I put on the table pleases someone, great, and I appreciate that. If not...so be it. I build what I like as I think it should be built and only to please myself. Always have...always will.
  8. I saw two interesting cars in 10 minutes yesterday. A '53 Packard more door headed north on a flatbed truck and a '36 Chevy 5w coupe street rod on a used car lot. Both in Northwest Dayton, Ohio.
  9. Very cool and original OEM dealer display piece. As a long time promo collector of Chevrolet promotional stuff I can certainly appreciate the owner's reluctance to part with such a unique piece. You're correct about belonging in a museum setting. Thanks for posting the photos for us to enjoy.
  10. Saw a very shiny C8 Corvette in the casino parking lot just now. All black and looking gorgeous.
  11. Our village owns a large dump truck that requires the front clip to be removed for engine work. IMHO over!y complicated.
  12. I really know nothing about these cars but surely can appreciate the superior craftsmanship shown.
  13. I have a couple I use that were given to me by a lady who does clothing alterations. They were a common sewing basket tool in an age when clothes were still hand sewn. Excellent riveted panels can be made from those really cheap aluminum roasting pans available in dollar stores.
  14. Images will not load on my Kindle.
  15. I love the "Betty" car as well. I would create all flat sheet metal interior panels if I were building it.
  16. Miller Meteor was the Piqua based coach builder.
  17. The shape of that roof and the chrome hand rail on top of the rear side panels make me think it may have started liver as a flower car used by funeral homes to transport flowers to the cemetery. A lot of those were produced here in central Ohio by Superior Coach in Lima and another builder in Piqua,Ohio.
  18. mind boggling details!
