I have not built the Renaissance kit yet but here it is next to the Testors and MPC kits next to it. You can see the difference in the width of the bodies, especially in the rear.

Very nice job. As others have noticed on this kit it could really use some better tires. The wheels are great though.

Excellent job. Cool color choice and great job on the emblems and S H E L B Y lettering.

I do not have the LM kit but I did build the CMA roadster and have the coupe on the list. Also built the ME mirage a long time ago.

Wow - $130 for the upgrade pus the kit plus better wheels and tires. That makes the HRM kit look like a bargain.

Have to agree on the tires. Interesting how the Revell version matches up to the AMT. The body differences are quite noticeable even factoring in scale differences.

There is another thread with a detailed article about build a race specific Mark II. The HRM engine kit is for the Fujumi Mark I's like the 68/69 wLemans winner. Those kits have the same chassis as the Mark II's but with a two piece body and other parts unique to the Mark I. So the first decision is do ou want to build. Mark I or II and with or without an engine. You will have to use a big block for the Mark II and perhaps you can use the rest of the HRM kit but I have not tried doing that. I used mine to trick out the old Thunder Valley kit ($100 over 20 years ago) but the Fujumi would be an acceptable substitute. Here is article from 1994 so keep in mind it was before Fujumi released the Mark I's.

More resin problems ????

I have never heard of this company. It's to bad - they could learn a lot from Marsh models. I have not bought any 1/43 kits in years and despite that in some cases ten years go by before I tackle one of their kits. If I lose a photoetch piece I fax them the instructions and circle the part and within a week they send me a replacement at no charge. Now - that is customer service! -

The color really lets the details show up well. I painted one dark blue and this looks better.

One detail Mr. Kosala did not mention was the Daytona right fender hump. The fender was raised to allow for the steep banking of the track to avoid tire rubbing. You can see the hump in pictures and on this 1/43 model. Notice even the maker Starter did not get the gas filler on the left pit side. Fujumi did release kit #12161 to include the fender bump but this kit is pretty pricey due to limited quantities. I guess it all depends on how much one wants to pay for a more accurate kit. I have a kit review of the newer release if anyone is interested.

Two thumbs up on a great job. I have an old magazine article from 1993 (FSM) on building that same model with those markings.

Is he Tasca decal from another kit?
