  1. Now that is a great blue light special.
  2. I have one of the Lindbergh 1/24 Cobras as well. It would be a good starting point for a decent kit for those that want to build a few examples and do not want to spend over $100 for the Gunze Sanyo kit and almost $200 for the HRM resin kit.
  3. It just got interesting. I'll call this one the barn find and swap meet parts special. This car sat for decades as a collector slowly gathered parts at swap meets and replaced damaged and rusted out fenders, etc.. I plan to add some Boss & Mach1 decals, a mismatch of tires and wheels, and the under side and interior will be weathered. Right now the paint is to bright so I have to do some smudging, sanding, and dull coating. So instead of fixing the kit, I may end up spending more time than trying to make it box stock. Any suggestions are welcome as this is unchartered terrority for me modeling wise.
  4. When I built mine I was torn between painting like the movie costumer (a rubber suit) or to make it look realistic similar to an alligator or wild amphibian. I thinkI ended up somehere in between. Maybe I will pick up this kit so my creature can have a buddy. Nice job on yours. Is the green painted or unpainted?. I think mine just had manicure done.
  5. I have never seen these wheels aftermarket or in any other 1/16 kit. I would also ditch the flathead motor for the one from the MPC 427 Cobra.
  6. In 1/16 scale?
  7. The bike might be much harder to find than the Mustang.
  8. Great to see one of the old pictures from the 90's that I am guessing you scanned. Feel free to post up more. Not everyone was online 25 years ago.
  9. Certainly strange MPC made a 1/20 427 Cobra and it took quite a long time for Revell/Monogram to come out with one in 1/24.
  10. I got his autograph at Carlisle a few years back. They don't make them like him anymore. Not sure when/where this pic is from.
  11. All of them are great but my favorite is the 69 Shelby.
  12. Here are the wheels from the HRM kit.
  13. Great color combination and bonus points for painting the inside of the grille area body color, rear antennae and poseable wheels. Nice job. Where did the hubcaps come from?
  14. I've got a spreadsheet that figures in SS at 62, IRA and pension monthly amounts based on various ages. Yes, taking the lower pension and SS amounts at an earlier age will yield less overall if you live longer than 11 or so years past your retirement date. Last time I check no on is guanateeed to live to 65 or 70 or 75 and past tomorrow for that matter. I hope I can enjoy the fruits of 40 years labor for at least 15-24 years and if I watch my money and maybe work 2 days a week for a few years I should be fine. I just heard about a guy in his late 90's die with a $4M estate. He lived in the same house for 50 years and you can bet he could not bring himself to enjoy his money and a dirtbag couple embezzled over a $1M from him. They got caught and are looking at 50 years in jail time.
  15. No problem. I went to the York PA toy show yesterday and there was a vendor with a few hundred Corgi cars all mint and in the original boxes. Ca Ching
  16. I don't think anyone would mind. I'll add that ther is no way in hades I would work to death and push myself to an age 8 years beyond being eligible to collect Soc Sec. My father and brother died in their late 50's.. I am 59 with no health issues like they had (cancer) so even though SS does not kick in until 62 I'm done at 60 or 61 at the latest. I've got too many models to build to be spending time working. Financially I wil be able to do it so why not. On the plus side my mom is 86 and is doing well but lives 1,000 miles away so I pray she stays that way for the foreseeable future. Oh - my hobby room is the living room couch with most of my models in a closet but I do have a nice display room with seven display case,, a bookcase and computer.
  17. Maybe not today. Liv was born in 1945.
  18. I was surprised it was not as bad as I expected aside from these major flaws. Of course the chassis is lame too but that goodness it is not as bad as the multi-piece ones. I guess I was just up for a challenge.
  19. I did not buy it. ARII and Doyusha have released the same kit several times. I have a coupe and they are curbsides with opening doors but seem slightly larger than 1/24.
  20. Been sidetracked with other projects and the weather is not painting friendly (no spray booth) so browsing EBay I bid a reasonable amount on this opened mint kit. I did not have this box so It's a nice one to add to the collection.
  21. I think the photos depend on the angle it is taken. Here are a few more.
