  1. Thanks Tom for setting the record straight. There is always one person who you would give a 100 dollars to and they would complain about one side of the bills being green
  2. I would just laminate/mate the deco rear protion to the kit fenders. just scratch the back ones. Use the Ladder/aero chief chassis, the pumper won't be long enough. greg

  10. My experience is that the tip is divided into 4 sections. I cleaned mine with 90% rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover. It has a larger wick inside the barrel. make sure that the tip at the end is exposed and not jambed up in the barrel. greg
  11. Also the Welly Land Rover has plastic flairs if you have the patience to cut them from the body panels. greg
  12. I cobbled my fender flairs from the AMT ford van kit (Phantom). Just a little bending and trimming. greg
  13. Very interpative creation of post war modern design. May I suggest since the name is Hurricaine Typhoon The designers might have used surplus Napier engines from the Hawker Typhoon fighters. As defined by Wikipaedia: The Napier Sabre is a British H-24-cylinder, liquid-cooled, sleeve valve, piston aero engine, designed by Major Frank Halford and built by D. Napier & Son during World War II. The engine evolved to become one of the most powerful inline piston aircraft engines in the world, developing from 2,200 hp (1,600 kW) in its earlier versions to 3,500 hp (2,600 kW) in late-model prototypes. greg
  14. Thank you so very much for the answer. I will be getting better bifocals this year. greg
  15. I've dealt with all types of complainers and some have said that I am guilty of same transgression. My saying is 'If they (he/she) were given a million dollars they would complain because one side is green.' greg

  23. Years ago, when the Avanti II's were being produced in Youngstown Ohio, a friend had the (dis)pleasure of building many and many of the AMT models for the company owner. He had a deadline as they were being used as center pieces for a banquet. Fortunately he didn't have to paint them. He never wants to see another Avanti kit in his life. greg
