GLMFAA1 replied to GLMFAA1's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Charlie, 2 guesses: 1: Needed something to put in a cabinet. 2. Hand line in the bucket to reach source while out of bucket ie roof operations. greg -
Had original AMT Ghostbuster Caddy in local hobby shop case for display since the kit was released. I usually just bring models to display to help boost sales. Well some 'boosted' the Ecto 1. Thanks to whoever needed the Ecto 1 that bad. Now the hobby shop owner is going to be out money or a kit. ABP: BOLO: 1 AMT 1/25th scale Ghostbusters Ecto 1. Built and detailed. License plate: New York ECTO-1. Distinctive hand painted red rear fins, and tinted glass as original vehicle, Last scene in the Boardman Ohio area, Kit has been sitting for years. No notification of ransom or reward. Notify via PM the below party, No picture available. That is all. greg

1/24 Oshkosh M 1075 PLS

WOW! Nice build, Not enough tires (Jokingly). Like the load, Not too many M997's in 1/24 scale. I've got one: Revell Jurassic park base, scratch built ambo body. greg -
It only cost 1624.87 total. Nice kit but probably well worth the price. For me I'll just happy with my 72 Mack Aerialscope and my FunRise toy aerialscope. greg

The AMT Ahrens Fox never made production. Ertl did not make any 1/25-24th scale fire trucks, They were 1/30nd. The only 1/25th Fox was made by Yat-Ming in die cast. They now make them in 1/43rd scale. greg

Working on a project with this model and directions show dash board decals, The decal set in my kit does not have them. Are they missing or were not included in this kit? greg

Good job, nice details, Never liked how the kit hood and body never match up. I'm sure would not take the car if Carvana showed up with this rig. greg -
Tables are sold out but available at the show when a 'no show' doesn't. greg

I had work partners that one told me Philadelphia was a state and another spelled it starting with an 'F'. Last few years I worked, my partners would ask me what the town was like when I grew up. greg

Molotow pen modifications

I'll give it a try since I have a pen that has turned black from silver, Have no idea what happened. If it doesn't work you can reverse the tip in the pen. greg -

You can make a Profit
GLMFAA1 replied to Boss31's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This topic took me on a hunt of what I have built as gifts, sold, and commissioned works and have count build of 46. They range from cars, trucks, boats and planes. I get asked all the time how much time I have in a project, I don't consider it work so I don't clock the hours. Many a project would be considered 'lost leaders' costing more to manufacture as to the price. I have always had the opinion anyone can buy a box of clay but to turn it into a Picasso art piece is where the talent is priceless. I have no arguments regarding getting monetary value from your hobby, Is there a difference between professional builder and hobbyist? Just remember most artists' works become valuable after the artist has left the good earth. greg -
Different variants of the Ford 4 door kits built with first, second and third releases. Police light bars modeled after Youngstown police first light bars, prior to these they just used Federal Fireballs. Used the kit light bar then added JoHan light lenses and speaker, base of gumballs are repos of a Jeep air cleaner. The pancake lights were made from the kit sanded flatter and punched (hand paper hole punch) out dots of red and blue acetate sheet. The light bar on the red/white chief car has a vertical scissor extender under the light bar. The all red chief car has just jr beacon rays for the gumballs from the rear of the AMT pumper. greg .

Revell replacement parts depends on when the kit was run, you might have to wait until another run is manufactured. That is what I got told in a reply from RoG when I ordered replacement tires. greg
