  1. "Have her watch a Mecum Auction on TV and see the look on her face when she sees what a really clean one goes for." If you really want to see something funny set the close captioning on while watching a live auction, It can't keep up with the words and makes up words as the auctioneer is chanting. I regard to the caddie, what an upgrade for the varmints that have probably moved from the blazer behind it greg
  2. posted about the Chrysler mod roofs awhile ago, just found this pic of the convertible roof options from Buick greg
  3. Isn't the pistachio paint a close match for the US forest service color? love the CJ's greg
  4. I've casted the air cleaner from the MPC Jeep kit to use a base. A brush of molotow and good to go. TIP: Quick casting material- 5 minute epoxy. greg
  5. I'll add my 2 cents: There were different squad 51's. One was built by the studio since it could be modified for camera work. If you watch some shows the hardware is under the front bumper. This one in the picture is not squad 51 but a stunt double squad. note the square slam locks as 51 has round ones. The upper body grab rails are absent. The taillights are in the wrong position. In the pilot movie there was also squad 10 which was a rescue squad and not paramedic. It was a 70 Dodge truck. Since the squad bodies were built by the fire department shop there were all kinds of variations and a few replicas built around the country. Here is another view of the above truck. so there must have been different scenes discussed. greg
  6. Worst for me was the Revell Ford pick up. Building the original way back when, I was so frustrated it ended up smashed on the floor right in front of my mother who was ironing. greg
  7. My apology. I do see the swipe now. Sorry greg
  8. I loved the AMT Lotus kit, When I had the original kit it could be made steerable by cutting the link on the top part of the front suspension. One of the first piece of model modification I did. What a mistake greg
  9. Why is it time I see a super Seven the theme from 'the prisoner' plays in my head. Nice job on the car, like the color greg
  10. I have no idea where I got the tall T. I did go through the stash and found the remnants of my original. Here are some pics A little bit larger than what the dimension mentioned in the auction of 34x33x88 greg
  11. I have some where in my stash the "Stroker McGurg" phone booth which in my opinion the booth is larger to fit the figure in it and not to scale. If I find it I will measure the booth. Don't know if these are the same kit base greg
  12. In regards to touch tone terror there might be somewhere in the universe a broken dusty kit sitting on a shelf to be recycled or someone of the model builders here could duplicate it. another suggestion is Pola "G" scale phone booth which would need some moifications greg
  13. Mr. Wyatt: Rescued "fire dog" greg (I made it over a thousand comments)
  14. Did any kit come with decals like this or any after market set available? Stroppe Bronco greg
  15. I just 'google' searched for hobby shops in Belize. greg
  16. I have to throw my two cents in. With this and the detailed Payhauler that are great models how come the windshields are pristine? It's easy enough to tape the windshields and using a compass to mark the arc of the wipers then weather the unwiped part and remove the tape for the wiped area. greg
  17. The old IMC dodge 'touch tone terror' had a telephone booth in the kit greg
  18. Thank you for keeping the site up and the lag in going to and from unread content seems to be rectified. greg
  19. I use liquid laundry detergent caps for paint mixing bowls and decal water containers greg
  20. Since your in Europe you might have a better chance of obtaining Prieser, Italeri or Revell figures like these nice work on the diorama here is an example of the figures from my collection. greg
  21. Just for some historical information back in 1959 the radio would have been up front as there was no communication network with hospitals. Probably a 'low' band radio requiring a 'whip' antenna. Information was passed through your dispatcher relaying the information, The 'Star of Life' was not around, lots of 'Red Cross' some other equipment would be a map book, resuscitator, spare cot, and maybe a stair chair. You could add a switch panel on the dash for the emergency lighting. If your going to weather the interior the linoleum would have absorbed the oil from the gurney wheels so marks from the rear door to the gurney would be on the floor. Back then some ambulances had hanging equipment to hang the spare stretcher from the ceiling (human torpedoes) Use the window decals from the Johan kit, Some had interior curtains. A reference that you might use is: https://professionalcarsociety.org/ Here is a picture of the late Ted Calvin's modified Johan ambulance to give you an insight as to what was being done thirty years ago. hope this helps greg
  22. Thanks for the great information, There is a detachment of tankers out Pittsburgh, PA that fly over here and now I guess the have the KC46's which I have not seen. Youngstown has the C130's greg
  23. I always thought that the C 130 Hercules and the B 52 had longer service. greg
