  1. Interesting that the 'eggbeater' was used by the air force, marines and navy , but I don't see any reference to the army using it. If the army did use it I wonder what indian designation it was given. The evolution of this copter turned into this: greg
  2. I'm not a rail hobbyist but I believe the large stack was an attempt as a spark and ember arrester. These engines were wood burning. Nothing like 'burning your bridges' or cars, track, stations, passengers, and forests (which was needed for fuel) greg
  3. There was a AMT Ford LTD off of the galaxy, Revell 1963 Dodge MPC Dodge various releases. Goon Car The Yodel cop cars, greg
  4. I have a permanent scar in my left thumb from cutting a model with a razor blade which were my xactos for years. When I got exactos I put plastic tubing on them so that my fat fingers could hold them better. Fortunately I never shanked myself, but have had many stick in the floor mat. easy to pick up when they are vertical. greg
  5. I'd have to add any of the vertical take off planes, Ryan x3, Convair xfy 1 'pogo' , etc and they had models of these aircraft! greg
  6. Here is the 'Huskie" at the USAF museum
  7. My choices would a Mack B model, White COE and a GMC cracker box as retro trucks. To have these done as models with details not included in cast replicas. In my specialty of models would be a generic fire cab ala TCM ( truck cab manufactures) fire cab with no name blank body shell and various add- ons to make manufactures plated cabs. greg
  8. Very nice job and great gift idea, just have to add my two cents: side windows and windshield wiper clean area on windshield. Happy Holidays greg
  9. One name: A.J.Foyt greg
  10. Who will be the first to wire it up and make em work greg
  11. Also Monogram's 'Rommel's Rod' greg
  12. Thanks for the info, Never bought that version of the kit, They almost look like scale art deco salt and pepper shakers greg
  13. What did you use or make them? greg
  14. Nice job, What are the loads on the rear antennas? greg
  15. Don't get mixed up with NBC putting model rocket engines in pick up tanks when they ran an expose on GM pickups with 'exploding' gas tanks. greg
  16. Hope he doesn't have a radio in the car, My recollection there was a suppression system like Corvettes, greg
  17. In another thread (Corvair engine air duct) the discussion went about the ways AMT attempted to cut costs near its end in Michigan. The American LaFrance fire trucks kits were a good example of the attempt to cut cost by eliminating the clear yellow and red trees and dechroming the kits. They placed those parts on the chrome tree. They even shot the ladder in the Ladder Chief in white plastic, Chrome parts from original release and white plastic from mid 70's /80's releases. greg
  18. Now way back, I rear ended a Pinto with my Dodge Ramcharger sliding on ice, When I hit the Pinto I was expecting the worst of explosion and fire between the two cars, I remember that big rear window shattering to a million pieces. pushed the pinto into a car in front of him that was stopped to make a left turn, so my insurance paid for two car repairs, In the end the Pinto driver got paid for personal injury from my insurance. He took the money and didn't pay his ambulance bill, so I let the ambulance company know about that and he went straight to collection.
  19. YEAH! It's a fire truck, Nice job, greg PS: by the way 'Scale Firehouse' web site is down right now, but Chris is working on it
  20. Now that would have caught Robert Mitchum!
  21. Nice work. great build greg
  22. Congrats on a fine build, I am glad I got stuck in fire apparatus, construction equipment would have been my next hurdle, thank God for the AMT D8 cat to put a stop to that. Always wanted to do a Gradall XL4100 excavator. greg
  23. I saw both movies, I am not a movie goer, last seen movie prior to last week= "Top Gun." I enjoyed both movies. Can't believe you Quaker Commonwealther didn't support a movie about your fellow Pittsburgh icon. Suggest you read the original "Esquire" article. greg
  24. Fantastic job, Curiosity has this cat wondering what is on the lowboy back in the distance on some of your shots? Isn't that a grader already? greg
