  1. A request from a retiring battalion chief for two models of my models of YFD chief cars. The first is a one is a one off that celebrates the promotion of three Italians firefighters to chief status years ago. It's called "Italian chief" I made B2 years ago, this one is B1 per request of chief. The kit is Revell's Escalade, Tamiya pearl white paint, handmade side decal using red decal paper and old Pactra yellow stripping kit. Charlie Rowley decals. Interior is complete with fire coat, boots, helmet and a Plasticville basket of tomatos. The Ford Interceptor is what is used currently as battalion chief cars today. It is a Motormax diecast white blank car with decals from Charlie Rowley. greg
  2. Nice job on the truck. I did mine years ago when the AMT 53 or Revell's 56 pick ups were the only kits available. I sprayed mine Testors red then shot flat red straight down on the truck to get the sun faded look. Made it look beat up more than the actual truck. Didn't have modern research vessels available back then so details are lacking, but I have Julio's goat. Used to build 'cars of the stars' with a 'builder buddy' back then. greg
  3. Neighborhood power failure right before Rahal wreck and power back on to see Helio clmb the fence, must have been a good race☹️ greg
  4. Got the kit through Amazon, It's white plastic thank God, I have to do a another 'Italian Chief' for a retiree greg
  5. Is the current release in white or red plastic?
  6. Peter you should check out Pennsylvania rigs, Moon township trucks used to be painted with 1957 Cadillac blue. Grapeville has purple trucks. greg
  7. While mowing front yard had high boy 32 ford roadster go by, then followed by a 72 chevy II Nova. sorry no pictures? greg
  8. Model: Carburetor gives it away, You would see the butterflies from that angle in the throats. greg
  9. Us old kids that grew up in Northeast Ohio were influenced by a late night TV horror movie host known as 'Ghoulardi' He broadcast blowing up models that were sent to him. Had to see if it was the same in living color as opposed to the B&W boob tube. Ya I lost a couple of models. greg
  10. The AMT 61/62 Buick special wagon had the set up. greg
  11. The AMT double dragster kit had the front mounted 'blower' unit for the front engine drive. You could build it with a single or double engines. My favorite dragster kit when I was young. Nice frame to fit the Allison engine in. greg
  12. What I can recall is that the Jeep kits had the Goodyears. I think there was a set of them in the Pontiac kit that had the ski equipment. The MPC Chevy pick ups had an odd ball tire that had straight cleats across them and didn't look like a snow tire. You might be better off going with after market sources. greg
  13. If you want to scratch build a Mack C (beck) cab it will take 3 AMT ALF cabs. The roof section makes up the round parts of the cab. The custom headlights from the old AMT Ford Ranchero kit can be fudged for the headlights. Old AIM (Jim Etter) cast the cab years ago. Don't know if ATIM has the mold greg
  14. Nice job on the Aero Chief, What is with the new kits that the upper boom does not nest in the lower boom like the old kits? There is picture on the web of a Philly rear mount ladder that matches the kit. Waiting to see the Man built. greg
  15. Now who's the 'oxy' and who is the 'moron'? greg
  16. Nice find. Looks like the MPC version, the back license plate bracket is upside down. greg
  17. I dumped my turbine in the AMT Pumper kit. What/where did you use the turbine? greg
  18. I don't recall the turbine being shot in green plastic before. greg
  19. Just what was your thought pattern of masking the whole underbody as opposed to shooting the exhaust then masking the just the exhaust and shoot the underbody? greg
  20. Nice model, shouldn't be a 3-4-2 ? (Three barrel, four speed, two bucket seats) greg
  21. Nice pumper, I wonder if it would be better proportioned if the pump body was 'bobbed' a little. just a side bar. My pumpers. The Revell ford with widened fenders and scratch built pumper body using AMT and Aurora parts. A Datsun with the Aurora 1/32 pumper body A AMT Ford pick up with the MPC Chevy pick up fire body on the back greg
  22. Always liked the P&H crane, The original had wires to hold up the boom instead of thread. I have two and the second one I got the builder made it a tri axle but I found the wheels and put it back to 4 axle. greg
  23. That's a neat model. When I was a kid and seeing one up close hearing the hum of generator and the burning arc rod inside the searchlight. greg
