  1. Just to post with the 'Blues Bothers' figures, Police figures from American Diorama greg
  2. Question on shifters: Been working on my kit and came across a step I'm a little confused with. The steering column has a shifter on it and then there is a shifter for the floor. Is the kit 'three on the tree' with a floor selector or should the clutch pedal be removed and make this an automatic with floor selector. I'm sorry that I didn't know the hubs locks were not Spicer, Hey the closet I got to 4wd was a Jeep that I was allowed to use my brothers CJ 5 http://media.fotki.com/1_p,rttwfqkfbwfbswgxwbfrddsrftbss,vi/bsfsskdbqxbsbqfkqtdxbskdqqwdg/8/3457628/13265735/P1040594-vi.jpg just test fitting items and color is Tamiya blue air brushed on, Sorry guys just can't keep light bars off my models greg
  3. Nice version of the Taurus. Trivial fact I was told was that the grey rear and back panels on Ford denotes a commercial chassis. I was told this by a Taxi fanatic if this is true maybe a FOMOCO fan can deny or verify the fact greg
  4. Another repair is to get evergreen tube and slide it over the post, if you can't get the right size, cut the tubing and slide it over the post. I used brass tubing before evergreen came along greg
  5. Ever notice JoHan were thinner and deeper pitch than the others AMT,SMP,Hubley etc They screwed in faster. There were crazy kids like me that used glue to help set them in the posts so that destroyed the idea of backing them out. greg I only have a few to my name, can't help ya , sorry
  6. Been working on mine and was disappointed in the front hubs and the warn lock out hubs seem to be short, Looking at pictures of real Broncos the hubs seem to stick out as far as the center of the hubcaps. The hubcaps in the kit have the centers removed to accommodate the lockout but the kit lockout doesn't come close. Working on modifying the MPC Jeep hub and tires to fit the suspension, Is there anyone going to throw a pinto on this chassis? greg
  7. Got my kit the other day, Was wondering if the suburbanites would work, thinking of using the Jeep wheels? greg
  8. Years ago I had a press pass to the Michigan race and took some pics during happy hour of the cars. Scanned my old negatives today and posted the pics at Fotki. Anybody give me the year of the race I would appreciate it, lost my pass in my house fire http://public.fotki.com/GLMFAA1/michigan-nascar/ greg
  9. My sister in law got these from a friend who was cleaning out a house, Was going to take them to Goodwill, my brother intercepted and I have them now, I know I can't sell them here but wanted to share. This is untouched complete greg
  10. A couple of canards in the front and it might actually fly greg
  11. Looking forward to more tips and to see all the Swiss watches quiver greg
  12. I was hoping you would post it over here, I can comment here, 1 item it needs is a nice old big whip antenna, you got the radio in it, greg
  13. Thanks for the answers, Any kits with that seat in it? greg
  14. Working on a project model of a real truck, I need to know if any one can Identify where this seat came from? greg
  15. Charlie's finished trucks are spectacular and appreciate his sharing his skills, I believe that the Ford cab is from 1962 as I believe that was the last Ford pick up model until AMT's release of the Ford pick up in the mid 70's. I had the privilege of obtaining one of the castings and ended making a newer 1970 model where I had to make my own grill. Had a little problem with an interior but ended up with this: greg
  16. Here are their line up photos http://public.fotki.com/GLMFAA1/blues-bros-lineup/ The only marks are the hob (house of blues) tm and 1996, made in china greg
  17. There were a set out years ago, I will take snaps of them and post them later. What's with the green tires? greg
  18. I have a friend who got both the CPD and the BB's cars, with GREEN tires. What goes? here is a reference sale on ebay, I have no interest in this sale which I find overpriced http://www.ebay.com/itm/Greenlight-Green-Machine-1974-Dodge-Monaco-BluesMobile-Blues-Brothers-1-24-/361773369305?hash=item543b5f87d9:g:HKYAAOSw8gVYA~zV greg
  19. You could make a tilt bed, with the out riggers it would work.
  20. You are very welcome, my pleasure helping out. greg
  21. If I understand this the raised part is going to be a recess with a license plate inside. then lower the whole platform you have it on and drill holes in the top plate at the corners to draw the vacuum. the license plate will cover them up. Or... reverse your mold and make the draw into the recess by little holes in the corners of the recess that would be able to draw the vacuum and pull the plastic into it greg 1 rivet, 2 rivet, 3 rivet, 4 rivet, oh darn lost count....
  22. It appears in the photos that you are trying to vacuum form a negative form, that being the top is wider than the bottom, If that is true you have hard task to complete. To get the upper edge of the plate you might put some small holes in the corners that allow the vacuum pull towards the edge. If it has to be clear then make another form that fits around the upper form and push it on the plastic after the pull but still in the pliable state, my experience is with the Mattel toy greg 'I don't build with rivets'
  23. I had one a long long time ago, It was a fun kit to build and matched up the visible engine to it, It all worked in spurts. One good thing that Renwal did was provide a replacement parts sheet where you could send away for new parts, My brother and I souped it up with lower grit number sandpaper on the clutch plates, a little more battery kit to the motor. Used vasoline to keep things moving as directed in the directions) Have a few parts left, not many, It was big for a kid to move around. Had the radial airplane engine also. Parents thought good investment for a mechanically inclined child. greg
  24. YEAH! Nice easy build fire truck, Good job, Lot of possibilities like this with conventional cabs and the ALF pumper body. greg
