  1. Nice picture of the chassis, I hope he does have the clear hubcaps. One thing that the renewal originals had was a replacement parts lists where you could send for pats that broke, I used mine a lot since the camshaft always broke in the engine, I loved the suggestion of using Vasoline to make the parts move easier. Does any one have the radial engine? greg
  2. A simple system is to secure thread/string inside the cylinders the length of the stretch, the string stops the cylinders before they come apart and doesn't interfere with the operations of the cylinder. greg
  3. Nice job, looks good without the glass. Did you use a slow moving vehicle triangle ? greg
  4. All I can say is WOW! I'll save the rest for when it's done, greg
  5. Project is completed, Secret build was to maybe help Charlie with his model that was shipped from Massachusetts to Hawaii. It was actually sent twice because of damage, It was delivered and repaired, so the need for a repairperson is no longer needed, thanks to all who assisted, This is a great group to belong to. greg
  6. I had a problem with my cordless and I called customer service first and resolved the problem, Maintenance helps a good cleaning with air gun helps. Give them a try greg
  7. OK, I got a Maisto 1/18th scale '48 service car and I would like to scale off of it down to 1/25th. I grew up between old math and new math so I am terrible at math. My mind says I divide 18 by 25 and I get .72 or 72% so any measurement I take off the service car I just reduce by 72% and I should have the right size. Does that sound right? greg
  8. I had the 34 Ford double kit and I recall the stock version having brass plated parts and not chrome, The chrome parts were for the hot rod. Was glad to have two kits for the price of one. Along the lines of the Aurora molds the American LaFrance pumper was lost, If Monogram had the mold what a great mate to the Mack pumper. In regards to the Revell molds the Revell classic fire apparatus were lost at sea between California and Brazil on the return ship. That's why the last versions are in Portuguese. greg
  9. Pictures from the model gathering at the Ravenna Ohio library https://public.fotki.com/GLMFAA1/ravenna-ohio-gathering/ greg
  10. I have ordered a Maisto 1/18 service car for reference. The 1/24 Harley's were available several years ago. lots of different models from the first Harley to electra glides greg
  11. 12. Another project is I want to take the Maisto 1/24th '48 Harley cycle and make a service car. Has anyone done this and if so, I would like to know how. I have searched for dimensions and found vague numbers, In my research I found out that the brakes were Jeep parts so I plan on using some MPC jeep parts. Any help appreciated greg

  15. Thank you for including pictures of the GLMFAA muster, Sadly to say it was our last muster, It took a year in planning and with all of us getting older and other commitments we attempted to get some of us together for one last muster. I want to thank all my participants and have always admired the ingenuity and enthusiasm at the NNL. I hope that the participants at the NNL saw our display. greg
  16. Could someone direct me to where I could find the winners of the categories and show favorite, I had to leave before presentations were given. greg
  17. First off: Thanks to Greg Peters for the hubcaps, Now for the side story, The owner of the real truck lost one of his hubcaps and when he got it back it had been run over and destroyed. My brother told him about 'hubcap mike' and he got a replacement for his truck. Thanks to all the great contributors on this site greg

  20. The Renwal was the Jefferson, Ethan Allen, and Washington. Revell made the Washington, Jackson, Lincoln which also had a firing Polaris missile, I believe they were both classed as Polaris subs before they had the Trident class. Smaller scale than Renwal and no clear side greg
  21. I used and reworked the Blazer/Jimmy roof to fit the MPC Dodge pick up way back in 76 when I owned a 'Rustcharger' It had a 78 grille placed due to an accident I liked the look of that grille
