Death of the Camaro? (Again?)
youpey replied to MrObsessive's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This is disappointing. I haven't owned one but always wanted to. I used to own a 2016 mustang gt, and I truly believe it would not have had the 400+hp if it wasn't for the Camaro. -
There is a compatibility to paints but it goes just one way I dont remember it exactly but its enamel over lacquer but not the other way around. I typically just stick with a specific type of paint and I'm ok. However I agree with the tamiya recommendations. I usually use ts line of paint from them with tamiya fine surface primer

This is the link to the original page. it says in the article its a 74. Also in the article it says avacado paint. i didnt realize what that meant before someone found the avacado gold paint https://www.automobilemag.com/news/collectible-classic-1974-1980-dodge-ramcharger/ -

i had it too. i couldnt post photos either -
This is my box stock 1980 dodge ramcharger. i painted it a tamiya off white. Its my first model since my last that was a while ago since i last finished one all the way through. I have been wanting to build one of these for a long time and something always stopped me. its not perfect, but i am pretty happy with it. i learned a lot from it and i think i might rebuild another at a later date. it went together quite nicely and i didnt have too many issues.

this is the site i normally use https://www.automotivetouchup.com/touch-up-paint/chrysler/1974/all-models/ the avocado gold looks almost brown, however, its definitely the right color. i found this site which has a car sample http://www.2040-cars.com/Plymouth/Duster/1974-plymouth-duster-60k-original-miles-mopar-dodge-chrysler-dart-demon-scamp-1126485/ i am going to try it since it looks like its probably right, and the shade is just off on the first site. thanks for the help guys -

i found the original site for this trailduster. the year is 1974. there is not any 1974 that i can find that has a color like this. i think it must be a custom color. -
I am looking to paint a truck the color of the plymouth. do you think the tamiya candy lime green over gloss black would give me similar results. https://www.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?I=LXZS06&P=7

Moebius Ford pickup without warped hood
youpey replied to youpey's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
i had tried this as well, but i over cooked it and it shrunk. i am not going to buy any kits where there is the possibility of having do this to get it right. kits are too expensive anymore, the QC should be better. I appreciate companies coming out with these truck kits, but if they look bad out of the box, its not worth it to me -
Hobby Lobby Summer 19 clearance
youpey replied to Mr. Metallic's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was just at HL in nj in princeton and didn't see anything on sale -
this is exactly how i would like mine to look. can you tell me, did you do this with gray on the primer, then paint white, or did you do it after it was painted? thank you
-
i fixed the door lines using the white over the black. i think it looks OK now https://ibb.co/wpgXMSQ
-
this is what the model looks like. hopefully this link works
-
It's not the one with the plow. The cab was ok, but the bed was not.
-
I will post it tonight. It does look bad
-
i ordered the gray. thanks. i will try that one before the white valejo i got.
-
they have gray, dark gray and light gray. which do you recommend on white?
-
Your first picture is exactly how mine looks right now.
-
I ordered some vallejo white wash paint. It says it will come in 2 days. I'm going to first try to put the white over it. If that doesn't work I will try to rescribe. If that doesn't help I will strip the paint as a last resort. I really hope I dont have to start over. I dont get many paint jobs without mistakes
-
do you think that i need to strip the paint and start over, or maybe just add a white wash over top of the black? It was a very good coat of paint, so i would hate to have to start over, but i will if i need to. I really want this to look good.

Good Morning (or afternoon/evening) Last night i was working on a model that i am painting an off white color (tamiya racing white). I wanted to try to put door lines on it, so i primed the model in white. i painted in the door lines with black wash and then i painted the body the with the off white. The door lines are still very dark black and it looks unrealistic. is there a different order i was supposed to do it in? I can probably add one more coat, but after that, i will start to lose detail. its a kit from the 80's so the detail is already very soft. Thank you in advanced.

I was almost done on my revell GMC pickup model. I had all the pieces painted, and glued together. I just needed to finish detailing the body and put it on the chassis My cat decides that he wants to sit inside of the model box. I thought it was so funny because the box is too small for him I didnt realize that the body was in the box and when he got in the box he tipped it over and knocked the body on the floor landing under the table. I stand up and stepped on the body. I immediately knew what happened when I heard the crunch On to the ramcharger I guess....

Is there a list of which of the moebious Ford pickup trucks do not have the warped (Ill fitting) hood I bought 2 and they both fit terrible and I am hesitant on buying others until I know which ones are corrected

best beginner amt truck model
youpey replied to Constructiongeek's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
this post might give me some grief, but i have found in general, that revell kits are better than amt in fit and detail. obviously, this is not 100% accurate all the time, but in general. I am saying this because you mentioned AMT, and i figured why not revell?
