Here's a pic of the underside of the restored 1970 S & M Cuda. They got the engine color wrong too, so I would stay with red (Hemi orange). Added a pic of the restored one's engine bay.

Thanks again, guys.

1/25 AMT 1976 Chevy Vega Wagon Funny Car
magicmustang replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Well, here's where I'm at. Acquired an AMT Vega Panel Funny car body, had a Revell '72 Vega funny car body in the parts stash. Had a MPC Soapy Sales Funny car kit I got on clearance from Hobby Lobby. Got out the razor saw and we start cutting. Wish me luck and patience.- 31 replies

Nice to see one finished. Good job.

This shows the Chuck Wagon as 1/25th. The MPC Baja Bug, Spitfire Corvette Funny car and the Yankee Clipper AMC funny car all share most of the same parts in 1/20th scale with the Altered T.

MPC Altered T 1/20 Restoration
magicmustang replied to magicmustang's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
The MPC Baja Bug was in 1/20 scale also and shared the same funny car chassis. You could build it as either the dune buggy or T Bucket. Found another one. "Spitfire Corvette Funny Car" 1/20 scale. Probably was where the parts started from. -
Got this off Ebay. Wasn't built too bad, but decided to disassemble and start over. Was missing a few parts and changed a few others. Still haven't decided on decals and need to wax it. Let me know what you think. Before and after pics.

Thank you sir. Love to see all your Tony Nancy builds.

Was in bad shape after I got it off Ebay. Slicks had eaten wheels and damaged body. Replaced wheels, sanded off damage, swapped engines (put a Hemi in it), painted and decaled in markings as run in England in 1964. Fun rescue.

Selling Car Model Kits on eBay

Agree. I've been buying and selling on Ebay since 1999, and their "quest for more money" is a turnoff. -
Selling Car Model Kits on eBay
magicmustang replied to dwdirks's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
On my last sale thru Ebay, the winning bid was $12.50. They charged me .80 for PayPal fees, plus at the end of the month I was charged $1.62 for selling fees (don't forget they include shipping costs ($4.18 on this item) in your total sale price). $1.62 plus $.80 equals $2.42 divided by winning bid of $12.50 equals 19.36% fees. That is your total cost of doing business. PS: Nobody should charge a fee on shipping! PPS: They charge 8.25% tax on all sales, even individual to individual as well as business to individual and for states that do not have an intrastate tax agreement (class action suit coming?). -
Selling Car Model Kits on eBay

My information is basic math! I take my sold price verses what PayPal deposits in my account less monthly fees and it comes out to about 20% of the sale price. -
Selling Car Model Kits on eBay

It has been my experience on Ebay that there fees are now close to 20% of the selling price (including shipping) plus they charge the buyer 8.25% tax. I can ship USPS Priority mail (from Texas) under two pounds for about $7.69 to anywhere in the lower 48 states. So with a selling price of $30 plus shipping minus fees you might clear around $22.46. -

Love em, both. Along the same line as my favorite Altered.
