Looking great so far. I was working on one based on a Steve Stanford drawing, but I only had the pink version of that kit. Ever work with that pink plastic?! its like working with glass. Needless to say, you have way passed me. can't wait to see it shape up. Mike

At least now you know why they went with the white wheels. Mike

Really nice job on the paint!!! I'm lovin it! Mike

Looking good so far! Watch the clip. The car I was thinking of is at :35. Just remember, if you ever watch the movie, it was the first of it's kind. This is the one that started it. Can't wait to see it together, and I hate those panels as well. I usually end up putting some big blocks behind mine. Thanks for the progress shots. Mike

Wow, I'm diggin it! That turned out great! All the way down to the cell phone. Good job on the body mods. They turned out great. Mike

Wow, another great start! I love this car and this color. Reminds me of the one in the original Gone in 60 Seconds. It breaks my heart every time I see what they did to that poor car. Mike

Looks good! Thank you for painting the silver around the inside of the bumper and the red on the rear as that is often overlooked. Mike

That turned out really nice. I like how you moved the parking lights on the front. Nice stance! Mike

Looks like it is coming along good! Yea, I don't like body work either. I think that is why I have found a friend in Duplicolor sealing, sandable filler primer. A couple coats of that stuff while you are working on something really helps fill all those little pinholes, scratches and hides the filler edge marks. I love the color you are using. What color is it? I have been a little busy, but not with modeling, as it looks like you have been. Love the Challenger! Mike

Pro street super bee with GTX tub?
mikelo replied to stevez's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I believe that is the same chassis that is in the prostreet 70. Mike -
OK, you have my attention! Off to a really cool start. Mike

Wow! love the paint! that looks really nice. You threw me for a second. If you look at the 2nd and 4th picture down, it looks like Donald Duck on the back window. Then I just realized it was the Viper emblem upside down! Did you have any problems with this kit? Turned out killer! Mike

I have had that same idea for a while now. Keep us posted. Also, since you are going orange with white interior, could I suggest you go with an argent colored scoop? I know the car in this pic is not stock, but I have seen several on stock cars and think it could go with the color combo. It would look something like this; Mike

I just found this thread. It looks like you have been making a lot of improvements so far! I wish I had a bigger pic of the original car as my memory is a little faded. Like the wheels for instance. If you asked me, I would just say they were the ol' Cragar 5 spokes. I like the wheels you have and they appear to have the correct era look to them. Good job on the hood as well. I think you went the way I would have gone to do it. Keep us posted. This looks to be an interesting build. Mike

That turned out great! Love it! What kind of chassis, if any, does it have? Mike

Here is one I just found round the corner from my house. A new Dodge crew cab too! It was haulin a trailor that could have held 5 cars on it. Mike Hey,,,,how did it get on here already?!!??!! well, a guy here said it was probibly suppossed to get a sleeper on it. But they didn't and they just left the stretched section exposed. Well, they tried to cover it with a shiny toolbox.

Wow! that turned out really nice! I enjoyed watching the build up and am amazed at how quickly this came together. Glad you were able to get the correct body. Very nice! Mike

I went back and checked to make sure my memory was correct. Tim's article talks about the bad placement of the square on the decal. It is not wrong, just in a very inconvienent place as they could have made it go all the way to the square around the factory scoop. Now you need to paint the area around the scoop, and feather the edge so it doesn't show up under the decal. I am sure this is a reissue as I would think it could still be considered modern tooling as I don't know the last time tooling for injection molded plastic has seen a major change. lol It would be really nice if they would reissue the Bee version as well. The box art was not great, and the wheels are totally hideous, But it does come with the correct tips on the exhaust as well as one of, if not the best looking Hemi motors I have seen. It also included an air grabber hood in place of the standard R/T louvered hood. The part that caught my eye was while it had the stripe delete package, it had a rear stripe that is really close to the one I had on my 72. Mike

I hope to see it in person on Thursday. As long as I can get there. Going on a buisness trip. Mike

Fingernail paints. . .How To? ? ?
mikelo replied to Mad Slammer's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
besides the colors, I found the nail polish to dry rock hard. Which is normally a good thing, and you can buff like crazy since it is so hard. Bad part is, I dropped a grill to my 32 ford on a concrete floor and a chip flew off of it. Mike
