Wow. I don't want to start being a rivet counter, but,,, Mike -
reminds me of some Steve Stanford renderings. Very nice & clean. Mike

Hey, I had a project like that years ago. I used the MPC kit as well, and even used the wide body kit that came with it. It also had some Japaneese wheels on it as well. Mike

Kenworth Worthington-900
mikelo replied to Scalper's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Great start and it looks to be a decent kit. One little tip as a Kenworth employee. Most everything is installed on the frame (and upside down even) before it gets painted. Now chassis can be painted different colors, but all the brackets, suspension parts and even the airlines and some wire harnesses all get painted. They do try to mask off things like the airbags (though that paint peals off once they are inflated), clear canisters (brake fluid and gas filters) and they throw bucket like pieces over the lug nuts that cover the sides of the rear hubs. This is just an FYI. I didn't know about that till I statred working there. I don't mean for you to change anything you are doing. You are doing a great job. Mike -

should look great next to your Ryder van. I hope the brass hindges work for you. They look more involved than the fishing line you have used before. Pleas keep us posted. I am sure this will look great. Maybe you can use it to help you move into your new gas station? Mike -
Looking for an onl SA Sketchpad pic

Could you mean this one from Jarius (the middle one on the left)? This is from his website. I hope he doesn't mind. http://www.jairuswatson.net/page2.html Mike -
Very slick job on this one! And then to find out what kit you used, truely amazing. Great job on those fenders! I like everything about it. Mike

Five stars for Missing Link Resins!
mikelo replied to Mr. Moparman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I purchased his 71 Challenger kit. Has been good so far. The only complaint I hear is the white resin is too soft. My hood has warped a bit, but I haven't tried to straighten it yet either. As I remember, he was quick on shipping too. Mike -

Cuttin' up a Kenworth
mikelo replied to SpreadAxle's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
OK, as an employee of Kenworth, you made me kring when I read "cuttin up a KW", but after looking @ your pics I can say you are doing a great job. I also am a fan of the grill. Can you get any more of the verticle bars? I only ask since it is a popular option to get an extra 4 bars, to in between those. Keep up the good work and keep us posted. Mike -
Very nice stuff. I like how you showed the highlights and core. I like the old scratched printed look of the Benz. Comparing to others always sets you up for failure. You have a nice style. Mike

Looks good. Best advice I have is to keep drawing. You will only get better. Look at other's work as well as reading through books like "How to Draw Hot Rods" and you will do nothing but improve. You never know where you could end up. Mike

Great combo. I really like the flake in the paint. And the cushions on the boat trailer. Thanks for the pics, since the pic in the mag is so small. One thing I wonder though, why are the directional wheels placed like they are? It looks like you did it that way intentionally as there are not two on any side going the same direction. Just curious. Mike

Very cool! Don't see too many of these. Looks like it could go on a box cover. Great job on the decals! Very cool! I will have to check the site out. Mike

What, with your name on the side of it?! I thought that would be your fave. I still love the story, Ithink it is on wikipedia, on how that name came to be. Appears the person who did one of the first ones thought the emblem on his car was a donkey. Hence "donk". Too bad it was actually an IMPALA!!! Mike

Replica of: Artist Mike Lomaka`s "ITALIVETTE" drawing
mikelo replied to John Teresi's topic in Model Cars
WOW that was fast! That turned out really nice. I like all the personal touches you put on it. I am glad I could contribute to this build in a small way. I hope it was fun to build. Looking back over the progress shots, it doesn't look like you had any major problems. I hope you are happy with it. It turned out great. Mike -
I thought that was you. Things have got better. I got a job at Kenworth. Bad part is we will need to move closer as it is an hour (60.2 miles) drive. Still have the Bells Palsey, even after almost a year. It is great to see what you are working on! Hope you like this avatar better. Mike

Thanks for the kind words Dave. I still can't find my pics of my Bernstien Tempo, but it is funny (sorry) that the Fighting Irish car came up. Here is one someone is working on that I haven't seen posted here, unless I missed it. Mike

I have a funny car somewhere, but cant find it. Here are a couple others. Mike

Great station, and great seeing you here if you are the Tom I think you are. Great pics so far, and yes, that is a quite a size difference between the 2 stations. Mike

1980's Toyota Celica-Supra WIP *engine bay/firewall detailed!*
mikelo replied to brodie_83's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I have the stock only version, and yes, it caused quite a stir when it first came out. The only problem I have is with the bumpers sticking out a little too far. Keep us posted as I will be intrested in this buiild. Mike -
I have a MPC kit called Demon Vette that is a combination of several years of Vettes all in one. It has clear glass that goes from where a sunroof would be, all the way down the back. It is packed up now or I could get some pics. Mike
