Lookin real good. Fun kit to build. Made me remember to back and update the post I had of mine. Love the wheels and great job on the stance. Keep us posted. Mike

I guess I should have updated this. I have been pretty busy lately with work. Here it is all finished. I am not sure where the "in progress" pics went. Any way, it is done and it was a lot of fun. I think I fixed the old links.

Sean Svendsen builds some too for MK. Not sure about any payment arrangements. I think he does get some kits, but he also does other stuff for him like design decal sheets. A club member, Tom Dillion, has also built models for boxes. He is lucky to have a couple back from the manufacturer. That was his only request and it turned out they sold them off.

Looking good so far. You are doing it the hard way, probibly the right way, but harder than I was going to do. I had a very similar idea, but I was just going to paint the glass to look like a split window. Looks great. I can't wait to see it done. Mike

Wow, that turned out nice! Mike

It was really nice before, but the stripe really added a lot. Nice work! Mike

Thats funny Dave, I prostreeted mine when I got it. I put a blown V8 through the hood. I even cut the hood all apart so I could make it look like the scoop was centered on the hood. I have both. I tend to like the Monogram one myself. I guess it is because of the headlights and some of the molding. It does have it's inaccuracies, but as mentioned above, I prostreeted mine. My MPC one I plan on building stock, or close to. I just am not a big fan of the mustangs from MPC from that era. I have seen some really nice ones. I'll have to pull it back out. I thought the motor wasn't as detailed, and I really dislike the flat chrome headlights. Mike

Great stuff! Nice style! Lets see some more. Mike

Wow, I am glad you enjoyed building it, and I am sure Ricky would love it also. Looks great. Love the tattoos. Mike

Looks great for a first attempt. I know mine wont look that good! The car looks good, I would just watch the shadow under the car, but some of that is just style. Keep us posted on your progress. Mike

Very nice & accurate looking build. The full size car has a ton of specialized custumizing, and it looks like you got it. Very nice job on the chassis. I am sure the detail on the rest is equal. Excellent job! Mike

Wow, it looks like your hand has gotten huge! Very nice job so far on a smaller scale. Like Jarius said, it is a mind set, and I think personality comes into play also. Mike

Wow, that looks nice. I have an original one someone opened up the rear wheelwells on. Yours looks way better. Great job. Mike

Very interesting. Have you been looking at some of my sketches? Keep an eye out on the magazine (in a couple of months) for what I'm talkin about. Good job so far. Keep us posted. Mike

Thanks everyone. I think I got it done. Somehow I lost a rear shock. Does anyone have an extra one? I'll try to get some pictures of it up. Quanah- You should get it out. It is a very fun kit to build. Just a couple of little problems. Be carefull with the tail gate and how it fits (very tight & a little crooked.), exhaust manifolds seam to hit the front cross member, but that could be just me since I swapped motors and used the headers from the kit. Other than that, it has been fun. prostreeter69- The wheels are actually a game that my local Meijers had. They were called "Hubs" I think. They had switchable spinning centers and was to be played like marbles. I had to cut down the center shaft, flooded the center with Testors white and dropped the center caps from AMT's 50's PU truck in the center. An example of the switchable wheel centers are on my 69 Camaro. Thanks for the comments, Mike

I am another member in the club that is doing a one month build (MrMike and his Ranger is another). Here is my entry. Some of you may have seen this at Toledo. It was freshly painted, had the basic motor in it and was just sitting on the wheels. There has been a lot of progress so far. Since then, I added BM, finished the interior, wheels, engine and now have the suspension on. Here are the latest pics. Sorry i didn't post any earlier, but that would have doubled the ammount of time I have in it so far. This has been a fun project that has helped get back into modeling. I am glad I picked this kit. Even with how it looks, I didn't have to add or modify it very much. This kit comes with a lot of custom parts and i was pleasently surprised at the amount of engineering that went into this kit remembering how old it is. Pieces fit together pretty well, with a couple of exceptions (like the tail gate). It was interesting to see how when I changed one thing, the impact it had on other parts (like when I lowered it lower than the kit provides). I will try to post more later. Mike

70 Buick Wildcat custom pickup w/ drag boat & trailer
mikelo replied to S. Svendsen's topic in Model Cars
Those turned out great! Looks like the decals worked on the boat. The rear of the Buick looks great too! Nice color choice. Hope you can make it to a meeting so I can see it in person. Great write up on your website. I really like the scuba gear & skis in the back. Mike -
Hey, great direction. Why not kill two birds with one stone so to speak. Since you are going with the Vette theme, why not use the vette windshield? You will probably need to cut into the cowl, but you can probably get the hood to go all the way back to the windshield and hide the wipers under the hood. Mike

Everything is looking great so far. I really like the mix of old & new on the motor. Your interior is outstanding as usual. Lovethose gauges. Thanks for the update. I have told several friends, but they don't seam to believe me. I think they made those Pegasus wheels with the old MPC & AMT kits in mind. Metal axels, they do fit in theose chassis that have a lot of room in the wheels wells. I have been known to hack the top out of the rear fender wells to get them to sit low enough. You can't see them when they are finished. Mike

Should look great. I had the same idea also. I got stuck in some of the details (and other kits). I was trying to figure out what to do to the windshield. Most people say its too high, but some people say it looks right. So I don't know. Keep us posted. Mike

Painting wheel spokes/ Road Grime
mikelo replied to Roadkill2525's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Try using liquid mask. I have used it on several wheels with good results. Mike -
Very nice idea and progress so far. You might want to put an open element air filter (similar to the phantom Vicky). I like where this is headed. I'll be keeping an eye out. Any idea on color yet? Mike
