Looks real good. Like the motor in there. I know you really have to get at least the shocks out of the fenderwells. I think once you get rid of the leaf springs, it really opens up. I grabbed the rear end out of a 65 Chevelle (if I remember correctly). are youy going to put any stripes on it? Mike

Wow, Ive been away for a while (computer wasn't lettin me view Fotki and other picture posts), but it is good to catch up. While I have been busy, here are some old ones. I'm getting closer to finishing this one. Mike

It shouldn't be that hard to find one. It is orange on the box. I would recomend this kit as it has a very nice new tooling of a 1/25 Hemi as well as the correct Bazooka tips on the exhaust. I can not stand the wheels in the kit.

Love the color combo. Looks like some body else does too. This was new this morning. Very close. http://www.rodandcustommagazine.com/featur...d/photo_01.html Very nice job. I thought I already posted to this. Mike

I remember getting a link from someone on this forum who works just blocks away from where it was raised. At that time, he said a rust repair place took the car in for a good demo on their process, which they have been using for years on bridges. I can say it was amazing watching it restore the metal. The only problem I saw was where there was no metal left. I haven't seen any updates on the restoration. Mike

Turned otu great! Love the color. Does Pegasus make new tires? I haven't seen that tread before. These old kits are still great for updating. Nice and simple, with just enough detail with the ability to add more if you like. I just finished mine last year. I did the big wheels, updated power with bags. I might have to get another. Nice job. Mike

Very nice indeed. I think everyone needs one every once in a while. I think I might have to get that kit. I notice it still has the TA chin spoilers (a plus for me). Great job as usual. Mike

Simply georgious! I have been wanting to do that conversion for a while. Great job as usual! Mike

Wow, that is coming along nice so far. I cant believe you got those vents open so nice. Well, here is the rendering I did. I think you can see why I thought of it right away. Mike
-
I just did a rendering of one for a killer kompact show if you need any paint and body mod ideas. Mike
-
I think most of them are made from the same MPC kit. I got mine from the Goodstuff a while back and have been happy with it. This after getting one from another company that I have not seen mentioned yet, that was totally unusable. Did anyone else have to shorten the wheel base just a touch to get it to fit right? Here is a link to my friend Sean Svendsen who built one using the Model king version from model round up. I will let him explain how he did his. I had a Last Detail decal sheet that I shared with Sean, for the stripes. First mine (I will finish it some day) Here is a link to Sean's site; http://homepage.mac.com/ssven5/Sites/Svens...demon_page.html Hope this helps, Mike

Glad to hear you had a good time. Sometimes our meetings can get a little unconventional. Both yourself and Mark brought some really nice stuff. Look forward to seeing you next month. Mike

Have You Guys Seen These?!
mikelo replied to mikelo's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Wow, I never thought this would happen. I have a hard enough time just trying to finish a model let alone trying to say one way is more work than another. I think everyone has there own niche. I know a local club here that does military models and can weather the heck out of them, but they don't have a clue how to make paint shiney. It also works vice versa. I like how you can tell this guy did a lot a of research and not just smashed up kits to make them look junky. There is a lot of time in the diorama also. Some are better than others. Do check out the other videos. They are also good and show all different cars (I don't think I saw 1 car in 2 videos.). I love the corvettes in the one I posted. I was hoping this guy was here to ask him how he did some of the things he did. A lot of work that turned out great for the purpose it was meant. Mike -
There is a whole series of these things. Some are better than others, but there is some real nice stuff in them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGWpblgrmfE...feature=channel If the person is here that made these, my hat off to you, and would like to ask about the weathering you did. Mike
-
That is very cool. No chance of someone walking off with that one from a show. Mike
-
I, for one, cant wait to see it! I love what you did with the last one. Love the touch of weathering. Mike
-
I'm lovin it. I really like that style, and I love the black around the tail lights. You just don't see that anymore. Mike
-
Again, looks great so far. Can I offer a tip? Having owned a couple of these Chargers in full size, one thing that gets me is the tail light treatment. I have seen very few done correctly. I am sure you will be someone who will do it, but I will include a pic of the 1:1 for reference. And yes, I know the kit lights aren't the best, but I know you can make them look good, especially in the pro-tour style.

Lookin good so far! can't wait to see this one done. Mike

Anyone dealt with this resin caster?
mikelo replied to Clay's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I ordered something from him, and while it was a while ago, he was very prompt and good quality. I am not sure how much you work with resin, but he uses a softer white resin. I kind of like working with it as it makes it more flexible (although my hood warped and I haven't had time to straighten it yet). I would still say he is a good guy to deal with. Mike -
Looks like a great turn out with lots of quality in in the divisions. Great job on the first year! Can't wait till next year! Mike

mikelo replied to Dennis Lacy's topic in WIP: Model Cars
This is coming along very nicely so far. I really like all the work you've done so far. It was good to hear about the motor. Please keep us posted on this one. Mike
