  1. It is with great sadness I post the news of Dave "Big" Deal's passing after a serious medical problem. Dave has been an iconic figure in the world of automotive art, whose masterful drawing style and creative cartoons have been an inspiration to us all for years... myself strongly influenced. Dave had only recently completed the last of 30 illustrations for PIXAR and then began a rapid decline. here is his website. http://www.bigdealart.com/ Here's Dave's email address in case you'd like to send encouragement or recognize his influence - DaveDeal@BigDealArt.com Mike

    Just Black 32

Very nice. The swap is pretty easy to do. I did it on my 3 window coupe. Great way to update a 32. Again, very nice build. Hey, what did you use for tail lights? I used some 37 Ford units myself, and they sat about the same. Mike
  3. Wow, that is pretty amazing. I know ebveryone has thier own way of doing things, but wow, I couldn't do it without some kind of lines first. Very cool to see how you do what you do. Mike

    FYI

I am glad to see I am not the only one using models when drawing cars. LOL. I can say with experience, since I own that kit, that is some fine work there. I am sure after you did that you probibly got frustrated with the rest of the kit. I still have to build mine also. Thanks for the link. Mike
  5. I think I might actually make it out on Saturday.
  6. I have a yellow and red Monza kit by MPC (which is the one I think you are looking for). Let me look through them & see if I have the part you need. Mike
  7. With as much as I would enjoy seeing touring gain popularity, I was tickled to see they had brought back Trans Am racing, and there are even some of the original drivers that showed up to run. I wish I was there. Check out these pics. http://www.historictransam.com/ Mike
  8. Looks great. It's nice when you can have a small version of a car you owned. I still need to get mine going again (it's also a B body. 72 Charger Rallye.). Great job, thanks for sharing. Mike

    Gun for hire?

Send me a PM. I will try to get it (with the weekend and all). Here is a link to some of my stuff. There are a couple that are not mine (a couple from my friend Eric Brockmeyer) Let me know what it is you are looking for and we will be able to iron out a price. http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y184/mlomaka/sketches/ Mike
  10. Great to hear you are coming back. Also nice to see your work again. I thought it was you, although I didn't make it out to Zanesville. Can't wait to see it in person. Mike
  11. Looks great. Love the flames. Let me give a big Welcome, even if you are not who I think you are. Mike
  12. I would be interested in watching it as I talked with an attorny about getting a patent on an idea I had and he told me this story. In his version though, the legal battle went on for something like 10 years, ford postphoning trials and legal red tape. When he finnally did win, he didn't get hardly anything after all the legal bills. And yes, he also said he lost to GM. Mike
  13. Two things; 1- a good brush. 2- a steady hand. Seriously though, there is a guy on here (Steve Millberry) from Canada who paints his stripes his stripes on by hand, and they look great. He said he just uses a good thin brush and rests his hand on the corner of his desk. Mike
  14. Not a big F1 fan (don't have cable, so can't watch much). I know i do enjoy watching it. Seems like there is always something going on outside of the race. Have you seen this? I thought it was pretty funny. I guess this is why drivers don't drive their spouces around the track. Keep an eye on Patrese. Looks like he is going to the grocery store to get some millk & eggs. Very nice work, both drawing & building. I am glad you took the comments as I am sure they were meant. Keep up the great work. Mike
  16. Thats great to hear. Hope it stays away. Mike
  17. Very sharp! I'll tell you what, I know a lot of people don't like those "old" kits, but it does have the "look". Great job! Mike
  18. Looks good. I wouldn't tell anyone about what gauges they are. That will be our little secret. LOL Mike
  19. It would be nice to have more information. Just line drawings? Both in the same picture? Color, B&W? Mike

    Badillac !

That turned out cool! Glad you kept the fins. I love the green color. Wish we had a car in that color here. Mike
  22. Clear parts get etched and I have some old MPC kits I built a while ago and the tires are melting the edges of the chrome rims. Mike
  23. Very nice! Mike
  24. I like the all chrome wheels on this bright car. I was simply stating the trend is to paint the centers. Looking good. Mike
  25. I agree with those wheels (even though Peggies are made for those old MPC & AMT kits.). Painted centers are definately the trend for now. Lookin good. Now
