  1. Wow, thats a bright blue. Looks great with the white top. I have some of that paint, but have not used it yet. Looks like I need to get some of that clear! Great finish on that. Reminds me of the clear I used to use from the silk flower section of craft stores. Keep us posted. Can't wait to see the green. Mike
  2. That turned out really nice. Nice & clean build. Mike
  3. Looks great. I like playing with colored pencils on toned paper. Nice effect. I guess you could change to artaddict. Keep up the good work, Mike
  4. Kerk, nice Dub tub! I use the same things, markers, pastels, colored pencils, ink & final clean up in PS (you can control the pigeon poop better).
  5. This one will probably take a while (as I have several other projects going on), but I just wanted to share with everyone here some of my ideas for my project. In case you haven't seen it, here is a rendering I did for a customer in Alabama. This is going to be a 1:1 car. My plans are to combine ideas of this one and Notorious by Rad Rides. While I would love to raise to entire center of the hood as I did in the rendering, I will probably just end up using the kit's cowl hood so I can get it done. First the rendering. I have test fit the parts and plan to get most of my parts from the old Mongram 69 Camaro. I have glued the front pan onto the car, but need to fill and round the corners and do a little more trimming on it. The nice part is the front bumper from that kit fits very nicely. Thanks to LOBBS for his article on his, I was going to use a BB from one of the various sources mentioned, nut now may just put a more modern mill in it. The rear appears to be easier than the front. I plan on using a left over set of tail lights from the R/M Camaro, with the rear pan from the older Monogram kit, the bumper from a MPC 69 Camaro and scratch building the panel between the tail lights. Here is where it is at now. I will try to keep this updated, but I am not sure how much I will be able to work on it. Oh, here is a link to Rad Rides in case you haven't seen Notorious. http://www.radrides.com/proj.htm Mike
  6. That turned out very nice! Gotta love those Thom Taylor drawings. Great job on all the mods. Looks fantastic! Mike
  7. Looks great. I am still trying to figure out what to do with mine. Great looking RoadRunner. I had a 72, 73 and a 74 SE Charger myself. Fun cars. Yours is/was in great shape. Nice option. Mike
  8. Sounds like a great trip. Glad you made it. So can we see the pics or are you going to make us go by ourselves? Mike
  9. Wow! Incredible! It would be a true tragedy to cover all that up with a hood. Mike
  10. I haven't made any from scratch, but I found some "barn door" style brass hinges in the doll house section of a craft store quite a few years ago that I modified to work. It was a little blister pack that had two pieces of formed brass and a bunch of little brass nails to hold them together. Mike
  11. This will be good. I just pulled mine out a week ago to look at it. I think I will do some small mods also. I didn't know they made a curbside version of this kit. Keep us posted. Mike
  12. I think I would feel like an ant under a magnifying glass. Psssstt!
  13. Great job. I must say, the last couple issues have been getting better. I don't know about the smelling better though. Mike
  14. That turned out really nice! Love the color with the wheels. Everything turned out really nice. I will have to get some of the old 55 Chevy kits. Great job! Another fine addition to your great collection. Thanks for sharing. Mike
  15. Looking good so far. Its nice to get back to these simpler kits every once in a while. It gets the fun back into for me. Mike
  16. I agree with the tan. Looking good so far. Mike
  17. That is way cool! I don't know how I missed it the first time (I was probably out of town). You really captured the "look" of the gassers. Is that a little Jungle Jim I see on there? Mike
  18. Looking great so far JV. Chassis looks great, & I like what you are doing with the interior. No Focus gauge cluster?! I like how you make all the pieces look like they came that way. Who's rotors & calipers do you use? I take it the calipers are resin. I have a few rotors that need calipers. I was just going to try to make something, but those look good. Mike
  19. What, thats a problem?! All my sheets always look like that. Thankfully I have been able to work around it. It sure would be nice to be able to use a whole sheet. Mike
  20. Wow! Everything is coming together very nicely. I love all th detail. What do you use for the electrical wiring? The seat does look more comfortable than my sofa. Thanks for all the pics. Keep up the great work and I hope you get over your "obsesiveitis". Mike
  21. Yes, everyone did a great job. It would be nice to see even more people's work! Also a big thanks goes to the magazine for offering the opportunity for everyone to submit their work! Mike
  22. Great build of a nice & simple kit. Great job. Love the color. Mike
  23. Thanks DJ. It really helps when you work with someone who knows what they want, and thanks for the props. Just a little funny thing, I just picked up the new mag while I was out of town on buisness. I hadn't seen it here in town before I left, but after a meeting in Pittsburgh I stopped by a LHS on my way home and saw it. I was also out of town on buisness when I saw the call by Harry for contributions. I was, in all places, in Pittsbugh. I'm starting to think I may need to move to Pittsburgh! I have just found another Hot Rod shop here in town I will be stopping by tomorrow. Hopefully I can get some more work. Thanks again, Mike
  24. That did turn out pretty cool. I also watched the progress. I wasn't very sure when you first started, but it did grow on my & I think you pulled it off. Nice cool fun looking build. Mike
  25. Very nice! I have aways liked those hoods. Great details. Mike
