  1. That turned out really nice! I love the color. Looks like you nailed the stance. Has the overall "look" to it. Thanks for posting & I look forward to seeing more of your work.

    Bmw M1

Wow, I havent seen many of those at all. I have one myself and was thinking about starting it because of that. Great job! It turned out really nice. Thanks for posting.
  3. That turned out great! Love the colors. Love the stance. Great job!
  4. Nice job of a neat car. I remeber them. Seams like they should have made more of them. Great job with the pencils. Thanks for sharing.
  5. While different style cars require different ways to to it, to get an even cut, what I do is this: I put the cutting wheel adapter in my dremel. A package of cutting stones came with my dremel that remove almost exactly 1mm each. If I want to do a 4" chop (or body section for that matter.), I stack 4 disks on top of each other. This way you mke one cut and remove all the material at once and makes for less filling when you are done.
  6. You have received a lot of good info so far. The only thing I would add is to carefully inspect the axels (nails). Mine had flash on the underside of the head (the part where the wheel goes). After I ground that down, I polished the nails, matched them to a wheel & used the graphite. Remember to have fun with it. It is meant to promote time with father & son, so let him work on it also. My daughter is in Awana and they have an adult class for those parents who just have to have it done their way. I did one last year just to see how interested she would get. Now she can't wait till next year. I will help her with cutting it, but I think she is going to sand & paint it. Post some pics so we can see how it turned out. Oh, in case you are interested, here is the one I did last year. It took best design and was tied for the fastest.

    My Artwork

You have some good stuff there. I can't wait to see more. Keep at, I am surprised how much better I get with each one myself.
  8. Very slick! A definite improvement!
  9. A very nice version of a very cool car. Great job!
  10. I personally like the 70 best (like the 73/74, but little differences like parking lights in the top of the front grill.), but to answer your question, to get a better detailed engine comp and chassis, I would get an AMT Challenger. The one you can make either a convertable or hard top. That whole top thing causes it's own issues, but it has a really nice chassis (seperate exhaust & rear axle, not to mention a front suspension with no metal rod.) and front inner fenders that make for a great engine bay. For a really nice SB, I would get an AMT Duster kit. If you can find a street machine version, it has some really nice MP valve covers. Keep us posted.
  11. Yes, great color combo. I also like the details you have so far. Keep it up.
  12. Wow, great job! I love the finish. Good job on the decals. Both the (I have heard hard to apply) interior ones and the white stripe that doesn't appear to have any bleed through. Again, great job!
  13. Wow, that turned out great! I really like that color. Great job! Thanks a lot, I am going to have to get one of those now (so I can make one like my avatar).
  14. That is going to be cool! Keep us posted!
  15. Wow! It turned out really nice! I didn't even know they made these. Great job.
  16. Great job! Glad it is done! It turned out great. I really like the motor set up. Thanks for finishing it!
  17. Wow, Biscuits doing a street rod?! I am going to enjoy watching this. Great start so far.
  18. For after market gauges, I go to Summit on line catalog. They have pics of just about every gauge they carry. I drill out the dash and place it behind.
  19. You can make some pretty realistic "flex" hose radiator hose (you know, the old fashioned rubber hose with all the bellows on it.) by taking a thinner wire, wrapping around it with some wire, putting the shrink tube over it and shrinking down. Great for the rat rod style.
  20. The R/M Willys kit has some that look like that but they are not aluminum. I can't remember, the Henry J kit has smaller ones, I think. But once again, they are not aluminum.
  21. I am sure it will work out fine. You are off to a great start! Sounds pretty cool.
  22. Wow, that is really cool. Especially for me and a factort stock build. I had a friend who had one almost exaclty like it, just that it was metallic green (a little darker). Very nice and clean job!
  23. Here is another one I still enjoy. Every time I watch it, I can't help but think... too much power? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3DlpSE1jsE Looks like he's updated it a bit. Here it is with a wide body kit on it. http://www.servinitup.com/index.php?option...6&Itemid=26
  24. I heard it in a few places, but I am glad to report this post... Re: lil John Buttera -Down but sure not out -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There have been posts that my Dad has passed, although hes struggling he is hanging in there. Keep the good thoughts going. Leigh This post can be found here. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthr...757&page=14 I wanted to check it out before I said it like a fact. Between the two of them, I don't know if there would be a billet market. Truely pioneers in the industry. As everyone knows by now, Boyd has passed. He has truely inspired the hobby. I do feel bad that most people's opinion of him is based on the show.
