Do you happen to remember the name on those? I looked at the Ikea website under "DVD/ CD racks" & am not seeing that particular model. I would probably skip the mirrors & might do something with some rope lighting, bit just the low profile case with a lot of shelves & glass front would be good enough for me. I'll keep looking, but any more info would be great! Thanks! Steve

I agree about the Duplicolor primer. The gray is very dark. In my opinion, it's only good for very dark colors. The white is the way to go for either the Peacock or Bittersweet paint. MCW carries the paint colors you need & the Preval sprayers, so if you don't have an airbrush, MCW would be your one stop shop. Steve

My wife has no problem with me displaying my builds either, just as long as they're in their "designated area". Most of mine are in individual cases stacked a couple high on a 14 foot long window ledge in my basement bar area. But it's quickly filling up & a few of these wall mounted cases would be terrific for adding a ton of display space. If all else fails, these are available from Amazon for $169.00 each. Not near as nice, but they would do in a pinch. Steve

I have to say, This sort of thing is way outside my spectrum of interest, but after seeing the movie, I will surely be watching from the shadows. Definitely more interesting than the 150 Starsky & Hutch Torinos we'll likely see in the coming months! Steve

AMT has the M&H Race Master slicks in one of their parts packs. 4 different sets for $10.00 @ Model Roundup, including the wide whites. Steve

I can't see why not. Although, I have heard some say it doesn't work as well as Super Clean. You should be able to pick up Super Clean at your local auto parts store. I get mine at NAPA. Steve

I actually started my kit a while back. First step was to remove the vinyl top! My 1:1 is painted "Crystal Turquoise" with a pearl white & black interior. Steve

That's a great idea! I had forgotten about that unique '60-'61 Mopar paint treatment. I think it would look great in pearl white with the red top sections, wheels & interior. I think a "Coralish" red, like 1957 Chevy "Matador Red" or '57 Chrysler "Gauguin Red" would really brighten things up! I did this '61 Dodge some years back with the roof sections painted a contrasting color. Steve

That's the one! I bought my '69 Grand Prix Model J right out of high school, drove it for about 6 or 7 years & then after I got married & the first kid was on the way, I had no more money to keep it up. I did talk the wife into putting it into storage rather than selling it. It has sentimental value for her as well. We dated in that car & even used it for our "get away" car at our wedding. Well, 28 years later, after sitting in a shed & getting picked over by thieves a couple of times, it's finally home & hopefully on the mend. The engine & tranny are rebuilt & being installed as we speak. Still a long road ahead, but we have time. Here's a pic of what we found while it was still in the shed, & after we got it home. Steve

For a '64 Merc, you almost have to go with "Bittersweet" don't you? Definitely the most unusual color for '64. Although, it's not for everyone! Steve

Welcome Anthony! You & I are going to get along great! I've been doing little else except restore old annual kits for the past 3-4 years & loving every second of it. While our genres may differ a little, (I'm heavily into full sized cars from the late 50s through the 60s) I'll be keeping an eye on you! I especially like your Grand Prix! I own a 1:1 '69 Grand Prix that's currently being restored. I have the kit to build.......Some day. Steve

Both products I bought at Hobby Lobby. Alumilite "Mold Putty" & "Amazing" clear casting resin, both made by Alumilite. I would think they should be compatible. Steve
