Is Modelhaus finished?
mikemodeler replied to Mike C.'s topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Chris runs that website pretty well and my experience has been if he doesn't have inventory for something on his website, you won't be able to order it until he does. This saves him the hassle of having orders piled up and people asking "Where's my order?????". It being summertime he could be on vacation, have other issues to deal with or is busy casting and reloading his inventory. As Ace mentioned, jumping to conclusions serves no good purpose. -

I had a company car for 5 years when I was caught up in a downsizing. I needed a car and luckily found a job that was about 4 miles from home so I was looking for a cheap car that could also hold my kids (2 & 6 at the time). A friend had a 90 Olds Custom Cruiser wagon that had been owned by a floral shop and was used for deliveries for 10 years. It looked nice but later found out why they got rid of it- bad carb! After a month of owning it I noticed I was getting about 8 miles to the gallon. At first I thought someone was siphoning gas out of it but a trip to the local repair shop confirmed what I feared- an expensive repair! Luckily I found another job that provided a company car and I was able to off load it onto some unsuspecting soul. Only vehicle I have owned that I would consider a bad vehicle in 42 years of car ownership!

Confused about 3d printing
mikemodeler replied to jeffp60's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Robert Burns has a Facebook page- Too Many Projects- where he lists the various bodies he offers for sale. They are 3D printed resin and depending on the type you choose, can run from $60-130. The body shown here is done in his lower resolution white resin but it is quite clean and very accurate. If you really want a scale model of a Scout half cab, this might be an option. You will still need an AMT Scout kit (of the second generation) to supply the interior and chassis but well worth it if you want it. I realize that the price might seem high, but by the time you buy a printer, figure out how to print and buy the resin, you could probably have bought several of these bodies. -

The first gen Scout is available in 3D printed resin from Robert Burns, accurate body and drops onto the AMT/Ertl reissued second gen Scout chassis with some slight mods. -
MPC Mountain Goat Jeep Commando question.
mikemodeler replied to Mike C.'s topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Unless they go back and re-tool that body, probably won't happen. It was changed to the current body and has been issued several times since then. Best chances are either someone casting one like the Olson Bros did or someone does a resin body print. -

AMT 1/25 2021 Bronco First Edition
mikemodeler replied to Jordan White's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
It was in the Round2 video today, Chad was saying it might be July when it shows up, not sure if he's accurate. I have noticed that MRU tends to add a few weeks to their available date and then pleasantly surprise us with it being sooner than expected. Whenever it shows up, I'm betting it will sell out quick. I might have to get a couple! -
Scenes Unlimited, Olson Brothers, Bolide
mikemodeler replied to TINCANBANDIT's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Olson Bros. has had personal issues affect their business (well documented here). Scenes Unlimited, as Ace mentioned, was sold to ST Supply who has slowly been casting the lineup and bringing inventory on board. ST Supply was a large customer of SU and when Danny decided he wasn't going to be able to continue the business with the service level he felt he needed to, Paul stepped in and took it over. Fingers crossed that he brings the light truck tires back, there are/were some great tires in that line. You may want to look at Fireball Modelworks, he has some nice stuff and offers great service too. -
Late 70s/ early 80s Camaro

This version is coming out later this year (no date has been given) but it is a decently proportioned model and does not have the T-Tops like the Revell/Monogram kits. -

Sources for clear 1/25 headlight lenses?
mikemodeler replied to Monty's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Not sure what the future of Olson Bros is but I do have some of these from when they were still shipping orders; https://www.resincastmodelparts.com/store/1-25-Classic-Headlight-Lenses-6mm-6-Lenses-p411763875 -
Placed an order for the 68 GTO & MCM #219 on Friday with Wes at Wes's Model Car Corner, figuring it would ship out this week. Sunday evening I see on his FB page that they got the 65 GTO and 92 Chevy Silverado in and were available to order. Placed my order and messaged Wes seeing if they could combine orders and he said NO PROBLEM! This afternoon around 1:30 UPS dropped off my order! Unbelievable service and just another reason why Wes is my online ordering choice- his prices and service are the best I have found.

F350 Wrecker
mikemodeler replied to Warren D's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
That wrecker body is a re-pop of the Midnite Cowboy wrecker bed and it was 1/24 scale, so it will look big on that 1/25 truck. That kit did not accurately represent a 8 foot bed so it does require some adjustment. I have a stalled project that uses that same bed, maybe you will inspire me to finish it. -
Still showing as TBA on the Stevens International website and that means it is either days, weeks or months away from being in stock and ready to ship.

I have ordered from Kris many times, always with the understanding that he is a one man operation and good stuff takes time. Like many others here will attest, Kris delivers but does get busy. -

Mine has been ordered and supposed to be delivered today, looking forward to this! -
The CKM show in August has been moved to Saturday August 12th! You should consider making the trip to Atlanta this fall for the ACME show. It is being held in a much larger location and has some of the best modelers from across the country there as well as a ton of vendors with everything from parts and resin bodies to old kits and new releases. Great show and great group that puts it on, worth going to.
