The Revell and AMT/MPC cabs are different Brian, pretty sure different scale but I know for sure that the cabs are different sizes.

John (vegadeth), I too placed an order with Alan and was worried about the long time to get the product and his spotty communication, but once Alan explained that his job involved travelling great distances and long hours, I completely understood. What little free time he has is usually spent getting caught up on orders. As others have said, once you get the product you will be glad you ordered from him as it is very impressive. As the old saying goes....Patience Grasshopper.

Nice! If you want to create another one, there is a Revell wrecker kit called Midnite Cowboy that has a similar wrecker bed to the one you scratchbuilt, making life a little easier! Also, check with Scenes Unlimited for some wheels similar to the ones on the 1:1, I believe Danny has some that look just like them.

I am glad to hear Don and Carol have plans to retire and enjoy life. I don't begrudge anyone the chance to retire and like already stated, hopefully they have many years of fun. Not sure what the future holds for their business, but if someone could continue their legacy that would be the best scenario for us modelers.

I am sure Harry will tell us the answer soon. He was probably out celebrating the fact that it got above freezing today in Chicago!

Considering I have several "collections" I should probably decide what to do with them before I go so my wife and family are prepared. My son has never shown much interest in building models so to think he would want them is wrong. My wife has gone to a few shows/swap meets and has an idea of what to do but maybe if I gave her instructions she would do well. The sad thing is that despite what I have invested in my collections, having to liquidate them will deliver a fraction of what they are worth. Like others have mentioned, selling my collection to a local hobby shop is not an option as they have gone away.

Ordered a Revell 359 Wrecker and the recently re-issued '72 Chevy Blazer from RPP Hobby last Sunday and today the FedEx Ground guy dropped them off. Have some ideas for a fleet of wreckers and will be starting on them soon. The Blazer might be a support vehicle for the wrecker fleet. The good news is that RPP had the wrecker for $64.99, much cheaper than anywhere else I could find it.

Very nice! Love the color and it is nicely detailed. The engine compartment is a huge disappointment in these models, they lack so much detail.

Sweet! I had three S-10s over the years- a base 2wd '82 no options; a loaded Sport 4wd '88 and a loaded Tahoe trim 2wd '91. Had a blast in all of them and wish I had them today.

Yes pretty much. They actually process them in the order in which they receive them, so even if your parts are in stock, you wait until the people in front of you have their orders. I have ordered multiple times and I think the longest I have ever waited is 4 weeks. The quality of the product is worth the wait.
