I'm no expert but I will hazard a guess that the holidays and extra volume of mail and packages overwhelmed a system that was already struggling. I got Christmas cards into early January that had been mailed mid December so not surprised magazines were delayed.

IIRC, the truck has the 2wd front suspension in it so one could build it as an LRE, just need some decals. If nothing else, swap the suspension with the recent 78 Dodge long bed kit and you will have what you need to build it. On a side note, I have pre-ordered a couple of the Warlock kits but can see getting a couple more later. Conversions and replicating some old trucks I remember from my youth will keep me busy.

If you really want that blue but don't want to use Duplicolor, check out MCW as they have many factory colors to choose from. Nice work on this truck, I need to get cracking on mine. -
Always enjoy watching your builds. They are clean, well executed and full of tips that are helpful. You always seem to pick the unique kits to build, which adds to the fun.

Being an all new tool and not having a sample on display, I would guess we will see this in the second half of this year. Kit development takes time and they are probably working to bring these show related kits out at the same time.

So I am not going to name the vendor, but had something happen to me that irked me. Was on an aftermarket website last fall and was interested in an item listed but said it was out of stock, add your email to notify you when it's back in stock. No way to pre-order it as that isn't their policy. No worries, kept checking to see if it was back in stock periodically as there was a bunch of other stuff I was wanting to order. Fast forward to this past Saturday when I got an email stating the said item was back in stock. It had a link to the website to check but I didn't see the email until yesterday as I spent half the day Saturday at the ER (long story) and didn't get back to the 'puter until yesterday. I went to check on the item and it showed "sold out" and a disclaimer saying that once it was sold out, there would be no more of them made. I emailed them and asked what gives and basically was told "Sorry, we sold out fast". Now they admitted that there was a large list of interested people that they emailed but didn't think they would sell out that fast. I'd think that if you had a large number of inquiries that it tells you people want it and maybe that is the number you make, or something close to it, no? Oh well, guess business is so good that they can have that attitude towards it, but so can I. Lesson learned.

AMT 1960 3-in-1 Ford F-100 Pickup Truck

Thank you Steve for the insight and explanation, as a modeler one can hope there are similar projects in the works that prove to be mutually beneficial. but the '60 was something I didn't even know I wanted. LOVE it when a manufacturer does that. Chuck took the words out of my mouth with his above quote. -
Would be cool to know which kit that originated from, would love to build one myself. Wonder if anyone offered or offers those decals?

Cool car, I don't remember that kit but I did grab one of those at my local True Value Hardware store as a promotional item back in the '80s. It should be interesting to see what car Evernham will use for the resurrected IROC series.

Desert Dog Tires for trade from the Mount'n Goat Jeep - EDITED
mikemodeler replied to Sledsel's topic in Trading Post
They look like the poorly crafted Goodyear Wrangler R/Ts from the Revell Billy Carter pickup, Alley Rat pickup. -
I would contact Kris at MAD, here are pictures of his 78 Chevy Pickup resin kit, mastered by Tom Ellifritt. You get the side trim, bench seat, correct grille and bumper, filler panel below the grille and a cab and bed that look like kit pieces, not clunky resin casting. I bought one from him and IIRC it was $70 plus shipping. It might be more but the Deserter kit will get you the tail lights, rear bumper, glass, drive train. You will either have to extend the kit frame or find one and of course the front 2wd suspension. This kit is NOT on his website, so email him or contact him here on the forum.

Desert Dog Tires for trade from the Mount'n Goat Jeep - EDITED

I probably have a set of the smaller Desert Dogs, do you need wheel backs and wheels with them too? I will get back to you once I check the stash. -
Nice tribute and looks like you are on your way to getting it done. Just a note on that donor kit- it is 4wd and has the different front end (81-87 model years). Check with Kris Morgan at Morgan Auto Detail, he has resin 78 Chevy longbed kit that also includes the bench seat. Has the side trim molded in and the grille. You will need a donor chassis and the Deserter kit can be elongated or you can buy a long bed frame from Texas 3D Customs. You will still need to fabricate a front suspension and depending on how accurate you want it to be, there might be some 3D printed options.

Here is an option for the Revell kit: https://www.fabresinworks.com/newstore2020/product/1-25th-1967-camaro-hideaway-front-grill/ I cannot find anything on the AMT kits, at one time I think Modelhaus offered a grille but they are long out of business.

Which kit are you planning on using? There are some choices depending on which kit you use.

Any new info on the Moebius '67/'68 Chevy pickups?
mikemodeler replied to Can-Con's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I'd be willing to bet that those kits will be late '24/early '25 considering they have so much already in the works. I do hope they decide to offer a wide range of kits from that tooling, long overdue! -
AMT 1960 3-in-1 Ford F-100 Pickup Truck

IIRC, Moebius decided to sell the plow set up separately after the plow kit had been out for awhile. I know some folks bought the pickup and plow kit for the chassis and not plow as I have done some trading with them. Additionally, the Revell GMC pickup and plow kit saw the same thing- some were after the truck, some were after the plow. To your point, the Midnite Cowboy wrecker bed has been slapped behind a few different cabs. Maybe if the Moebius wrecker does well Revell might either reissue the Midnite Cowboy kit or cobble up a kit using it and a different cab? As much as I would like to see Moebius sell the wrecker separately, I don't think that would happen. -

The wrecker bed is for the dual rear wheel setup, the utility bed is for single rear wheel set up. There was rumors/images of a possible dump bed version after the wrecker kit was released, which would utilize the dual rear wheel set up. I have a Modelhaus resin utility body that is designed to be used on a rear dual wheel chassis. -
I was a reader of the mag back in the day and discovered it's return a few years ago. I have a subscription and while it has changed with the times, it is still a good read. George Trosley is great artist and his work has been in all kinds of magazines over the years. I even have a CarToons t-shirt.

Drag race legend, team owner and businessman Don Schumacher passed away from his battle with cancer today at the age of 79. One of the sports biggest names has passed on to the drag strip in the sky after so much he has given to motorsports.

The WFH policy is a joke, I can attest to it as I have a harder time getting answers from the people who work a hybrid schedule on their "home" days versus their "office" days. Companies are willing to accept a reduced work output level because they are saving big $$$ by not having as much office space or utilities as a result of people working from home. I have been WFH for nearly 30 years as I am in field sales and my employer is on the other side of the country. Since Covid when my travel was curtailed, my food and utilities costs have risen and sadly my pay hasn't kept pace with inflation so I have suffered while my employer has benefited.
