  1. Those tires look awful! Is it just flash on them, or is the one on the left actually deformed?
  2. Doubt it. They might look at them, then say they want to release another '57 Chevy.
  3. Was it the Eaton Yale Escorts or the Rothman's Escorts that ran 13s front, 14s rear?
  4. Maybe they could release the Escort from the new movie...
  5. I wouldn't be happy about any of those. Happy birthday, and I like the profile picture, by the way. "I am a banana."
  6. So, I couldn't figure out exactly how to order from Finks Garage, so I'm looking at other wheels online. About ready to prime the body, but I have a sneaking feeling the grill vents need more putty. Got some Watanabe wheels instead, Fujimi 17" ones. Also got some Gofer license plate decals, but they'll be here in about a week or so; the wheels come next month.
  7. Kerosene, diesel, gasoline, waste oil, maybe more.
  8. Bought it yesterday, as a matter of fact! It's a Model Master turquoise, a GM color. Ah, it's Tropical Turquoise. Was thinking about Fifties Aqua, but it looked too light.
  9. The Who version of Under My Thumb! Just discovered it today, and I like it better than the Rolling Stones version. I dunno, I just like the Who, I guess.
  10. Yep, this is the Revell kit. It's a reboxed ROG kit. If you couldn't tell by it being molded so nicely, when you look at every little Baggie inside the box, it says "(parts) made in Poland." Every one of them. For a minute, I was looking at dry-transfers in the LHS, and was thinking of putting "Made in Poland" in old English script on the rear. Might be getting some of those Randar wheels from Finks. Have some leftover Porsche decals that I may put on them, but planning what to do with something I might not get... And now, update! First time doing embossing powder carpet. The driver's one looks a tiny bit grainier than the other, but when it's further away and with the seats and all in place, you don't notice it.
  11. Yeah, I thought of that right as soon as I learned that they wouldn't fit. Kinda like a silver lining, I guess. Maybe I'll just scratch one when I make the intake.
  12. So, found some Webers from a Datsun Z-Car, and thought I'd try those. Nope, too tall. Dad recommended to use the stock intake with one Weber pointing back towards the back of the car. I'll have to do this, but make an intake since I lost the stock one, of course, after I decided to use the first carbs. Wheeeeeee.... Going to probably make a dual-muffler exhaust as well for more streetability, and use the stinger for dragging.
  13. Saw this one at Walmart a while ago. They're traveling the US in it. *not actual time I saw it, from their website*
  14. I'd be in for some, providing there's enough.
  15. I found this site a while ago: http://www.starshipmodeler.com/events/wfest2k2/WEATHER1.doc
  16. Should be an interesting build!
  17. Thought I'd ask you guys a question: has anybody here ever made eyebrows for their Bug models? I like the way they look, and think I might make some. Also, anybody who could help me with a set of front spindles, send me a PM. Planning on doing a spindle drop, and don't want to do it with my only set.
  18. Would it be too much to ask for a tutorial on the roof rack? I'd like one for my Bug, and I think the other VW nuts on here would enjoy it, too.
  19. Poked around some message boards and one guy said, "my mileage varies between 5 and 7.4 mpg depending on how heavy my foot is." Ouch.
  20. Looks great! Have to get one when I get bench space.
  21. That Prevost motorhome is terrible. Who would want to drive that? It's literally a coach bus! When we go camping, we take a truck and load gear in it, drive for a couple hours north, then when we get there, we have to drive up an eight mile road to get to the campsites! Sure, there are showers, bathrooms, and a rec hall, but they're not modern at all. No TV in the rec hall, but there's ping pong. We camp in a lean-to on cots, and cook meals on a fire. We go and find our own wood and chop it ourselves. I wouldn't ever want to camp in a camper. Reminds me of an episode of American Dad, wherein Stan's boss has a camper and says, "It's like driving a terrible little house!"
