  1. So I bumped into a little problem. The plug wires hit the hood but I think i can fix that by lowering the distributor. But the carbs interfere with the hood and the radiator is to wide to fit between the wheel wells. While the radiator is no big problem, I'm a little lost with the engine/hood problem. I did check and the engine is installed properly. I wonder if installing the glass will make a difference? Anyone else encountered this...
  2. Couldn't resist a little mock up. After seeing several of these built up, I was concerned about the ride height. But I think it's all good. Still undecided about the colors for the interior and body, but there is no rush at this point.
  3. I'll be watching this unique project...
  4. That kit has so much flash it should be arrested for indecent exposure. But you’ll have it shaped right up.
  5. Very cool and rainy here in Ohio today, but makes for some bench time. Assembly and detailing going on. Not really happy with the kit tires but I think some more sanding will make them acceptable. Still need to plumb and wire a few things but I'm liking it so far. I sprayed the inner part of the wheels with magnesium Alcald and the the rest is various shades of black and aluminium.
  6. I really like those kits, And have built a few of them over the years. Does you dad have any pictures of the car he had in mind?
  7. Very nicely done, great detail, fit and finish.
  8. All I can say is, WOW! Beautiful work done here.
  9. Thanks Gary, That top pick helps, and I was able to borrow a copy of the book you mentioned. Looks like I'll get some time this weekend to work on this...
  10. I'm kinda excited to get paint on some pieces for this one. Gloss Black lacquer base, Alclad aluminum, Alclad steel and non-buffing metalizer. The chassis is Gloss Black Model Master, no clear! And then I used Steel and semi-gloss black on the various components. I also added some black wash to highlight the details. I need to find a good picture of the fuel cell before painting it. And I started cleaning parts for assembly. I'll get some close ups after things progress a little more. I haven't touched the frame since painting last weekend, I really don't want any fingerprints on it!!! Hopefully I'll be able to prep the chassis this weekend...
  11. Just a little Alclad...

  18. I understand how frustrating this can be. Have you considered another coat of clear?
  19. Amazing build, it's a pleasure to watch.
  20. Thanks for the kind comments everyone. I find it rewarding to save these older builds.

Great looking model. Weren’t these called the pour mans Corvette?
  24. As found on eBay... After some disassembly and cleaning. Dupli-color Chrysler Champagne, AMT Camaro wheels and tires, some BMF and Alclad. I did this as a curbside for now, perhaps some day it'll get a Hemi...
