  1. I really like those kits, And have built a few of them over the years. Does you dad have any pictures of the car he had in mind?
  2. Very nicely done, great detail, fit and finish.
  3. All I can say is, WOW! Beautiful work done here.
  4. Thanks Gary, That top pick helps, and I was able to borrow a copy of the book you mentioned. Looks like I'll get some time this weekend to work on this...
  5. I'm kinda excited to get paint on some pieces for this one. Gloss Black lacquer base, Alclad aluminum, Alclad steel and non-buffing metalizer. The chassis is Gloss Black Model Master, no clear! And then I used Steel and semi-gloss black on the various components. I also added some black wash to highlight the details. I need to find a good picture of the fuel cell before painting it. And I started cleaning parts for assembly. I'll get some close ups after things progress a little more. I haven't touched the frame since painting last weekend, I really don't want any fingerprints on it!!! Hopefully I'll be able to prep the chassis this weekend...
  6. Just a little Alclad...
  7. That is very nice.
  8. Very nicely done.
  9. Thank you...
  10. What a great looking model, well done.
  11. Outstanding! Great pix also.
  12. Good for you! Out of a job is no fun.
  13. I understand how frustrating this can be. Have you considered another coat of clear?
  14. Amazing build, it's a pleasure to watch.
  15. Thanks for the kind comments everyone. I find it rewarding to save these older builds.
  16. Sharp Bowtie
  17. Nicely done. How is that kit?

    Opal GT

Great looking model. Weren’t these called the pour mans Corvette?
  19. As found on eBay... After some disassembly and cleaning. Dupli-color Chrysler Champagne, AMT Camaro wheels and tires, some BMF and Alclad. I did this as a curbside for now, perhaps some day it'll get a Hemi...
  20. Great looking model you got there...
  21. Looooking gooood...
  22. I see some chrome in modern kits that appears more like a toy than would be desired on a scale model. All chrome is not the same, kind of like all that glitters is not gold...
  23. So is Alclad... Plating is good if time is not against you. But then the question of "TOY LIKE" comes into play.
  24. Your comment interests me. I am considering this Molotow option for chrome. I have a local source but have no idea of cost yet. Molotow is basically a one coat application, correct? Alclad if done correctly is three coats, gloss black, clear and chrome. Primer not counted in either application. Does the cost equal out better considering this?
