  1. There's an example of someone who does what he likes and does it well. So much so, that he sold his body shop and works at one where all he does is shoot paint. He couldn't stand the admin and management B.S.
  2. Took another tack this morning and made some that exit to the side out of #14 electrical wire.
  3. There is also a "step" on top of the cowl at the base of the windshield. Attempted to replicate that using some styrene strip. I'll try to round off the front edge of it.
  4. Attached the plastic roof to the diecast body after making sure I can install everything that goes inside from underneath. I had to cut the rear compartment interior pieces in three because it was designed to go in from the top. There is an odd groove/gap where the top meets the body. A look at the 1:1 shows a small belt molding at about that level, so I decided to hide that with some half round which will mimic the molding on the 1:1 if not exactly the same.
  5. X2
  6. Cobbled up a pair of headers out of some parts bin finds. they look pretty good but should exit to the side otherwise it'll be a long run to the turbos.
  7. Congratulations on the new job. As for the hobby, it saved my life when I was gone for months at a time. I had a suitcase with my tools, paint etc and I used to build in my motel room to stay out of the bars.
  8. Thanks guys, i have several alternatives now.
  9. Completed the wiring of the engine. Added fuel rails and rubber fuel lines to the injectors.
  10. What are the red and blue fittings commonly used in racing cars and hot rods called? Are they available in 1:24/1:25? If not, what colors should I use to get that anodized look?
  11. A built '39 Chevy as donor for the "Sloper" I have coming from OZ.
  12. Painted the interior parts. Meanwhile, the work on the body continues.
  13. Working at making a hopefully credible engine bottom. Added some Chief joseph hubs tothe transaxle.
  14. The air intake/rad/intercooler interface has to support a lot from a narrow connection. So I drilled the interfaces out & pinned them
  15. The kit engine doesn't have a bottom. The headers are molded to the floor. The suspension cross arm wasn't meant to be seen from the front. That was easy to fix.
  16. Nice. The back panel has an Art Deco look about it. Love it. Is there a lid so you can showit to your friends?
  17. Looking at the 1:1 to get a feel of how far down the dripo molding goes I noticed that the rear roof quarters are smooth. So I filled in the ones on the model. Turns out my upper windshield reveal is more pronounced than the real one. May have a long filing & sanding session.
  18. I'm fascinated by all this weathering. Wish I could do it. the resulting models have such character..
  19. Rest in peace Harry. You have all the time in the world now.
