  1. I see what you mean now. I went to this link and saw the page, thinking it was still available. But I tried it and can't get beyond current articles. Guess my boxes of old issues still have value. https://www.hotrod.com/hotrod-archive Jeff
  2. Huh, works for me. https://www.hotrod.com/ Jeff
  3. Thanks for the heads up. Just got back from my local Tractor Supply. Got this pair. Power Wagon is listed as 1:32 and Land Cruiser is labled 1:24, although it's a little big, probably 1:22, or something. TS is having they're black friday sales starting today and I got this pair as buy one, get 1 at 1/2 price. The Toyota was $19.99 and the Power Wagon was half off at $6.49, being the cheaper one was on sale, of course. I was going to harvest the wheels/tires off of these, but the Land Cruiser is so cool I'm going to just display it as is. The Dodge has a cool pushbar/winch/lightbar setup I might use also. The more I look at it, the more I might keep the Dodge intact also, lol. Jeff
  4. Thank you to our veterans, alive and passed. May God Bless you and the United States of America. Jeff
  5. I always thought this truck and camper top would be cool to build. Jeff
  6. Beautiful model. As others have said, I thought it was a real Scout also. Great build. Jeff
  7. You have one of the original releases from the 80's. Hence the color of the plastic. Hope the decals are still good. Can't wait to see how this turns out. Jeff
  8. Very cool. Reminds me of one of O Winston Link's famous photos. One of my favorites here. https://www.jacksonfineart.com/artists/o-winston-link/hot-shot-eastbound-at-the-drive-in-iaeger-west-virginia-1956/ Jeff
  9. Guy has an interesting message. My first reaction as a middle aged man whose interest is in 50's and muscle cars, was kick them out, shut 'em down, impound the cars. But as I started to think about it, the original hot rodders back in the 40's-50's weren't too much different. They just had respect for other people and their property, mostly. I think he's spot on about social media and instant gratification ruining things today. Everybody wants to be famous and a utube star. And that leads to more outrageous behavior and less respect for other people. This is not just limited to the car culture world either. It's the continuing loss of morals, the lack of taking responsibility for one's actions, and lowering of acceptable behavior in the younger generations that will be the downfall of our recreations and pastimes, and even our society. Jeff
  10. Very nice rendition. I just watched/followed the real car on Drag Week, as it came through my area all week (southcentral PA). Was wild watching him try to control the wheelies all week with it. Didn't get to watch the racing in person, but watched the parade drive through my area and watch the 1320 coverage each day. Great looking model. Jeff
  11. There's a trucking company I pass on my way to and from work. They have some interesting loads sitting on their lot sometimes. Pics taken from a public road. Jeff
  12. My best friend owns a repair garage. I'm always asking him how he's able to fix today's junk. He's about ready to give it up too. Example, a couple of months ago, the starter in my Chevy PPV went out. No biggie, starters fail. He installed a brand new one and 2 days later, it failed. Borrowed the rollback again, took it to the shop and installed another starter. So far, it's been good. But my friend was out the labor of replacing the starter and the transport of the car. He's a good friend and wouldn't even think of charging me any additional time. But he's a fellow bourbon enthusiast so I bought him a good bottle for his troubles. Jeff
  13. Interesting and informative video. All I know about oil viscosity is that I had to use thicker Penzoil in my Scout to keep the valve cover gaskets from leaking, lol. Jeff
  14. My favorite role was as The Gent in Hell Ride. Rest In Peace Mr Madsen. Jeff
  15. I've got a couple of rock crawers. A Redcat IH Scout II and an ebay special Bronco look alike. The Scout is mostly stock except for the light kit, winch, and aftermarket wheels/tires. The Bronco was bought because my daughters always wanted to play with my Scout and were a little heavy handed with the controller. It used to be relaxing to sit out with a good cigar and play on my pile of rocks in the backyard, but I've kind of lost interest in it and only get it out once in a while. I need to rearrange my rocks and make a different challenge for them. I know you can sink a lot of money in r/c though. Jeff
  16. That's a good one, this will work too. Jeff
  17. Ok....., show me. I'd take it in a heartbeat. Me an Christine would drive around without a care in the world.... Ok, I want the Scout also, but I already have one in that shape. Jeff
  18. Great looking Honcho. Love how you handled the rollbar. Never thought about the magnets holding the hood, thanks for the tip. Everything looks just right on it. Jeff
  19. Great looking Scout. I like the color combination and interior choices. Don't worry about the paint bubbling, that's just the IH steel already starting to rust, lol. Love Scouts, just wish they didn't rust so bad. Very nice model. Jeff
  20. Very cool build. The tire chains are a great addition. I love how you made them. The interior details look great also. Jeff
  21. I'm working on a project that requires 8 tractor tires all the same size. I wasn't looking forward to purchasing several tractor kits just for the tires and wheels. So after searching ebay for old toy tractors with which to rob the tires from, I came across this. A toy from China that was around $18.00. The scale listed on the box said 1:16, but a pic with the dimensions in the ad showed it looked closer to 1:25 or about. After finding a vendor in the states and not in China, I took a gamble and ordered 2. They are definitely more toy-like, but will suit my purpose perfectly. The soda can is just for size reference. They are offered in many different models as seen on the box in the second pic. But my take on these is that they are copying model kits and re-engineering them as toys. Interesting to say the least. The tractor kit really looks cool. Jeff
  22. I always hated those fake spare tires on the back of '80's Cadillac Seville's. Although, now they take me back to a simpler time. Jeff
  23. Actually, this is probably the largest kit box and kit, lol. 15 grand doesn't sound like a bad deal. https://thejeepsterman.com/products/jeep-in-crate-mb-1942-willys-jeep?srsltid=AfmBOoo--Usj_Vtj83dxieuqVFPxba8bf6faLfagbvzKmse99r0VHCbv Jeff
  24. Maximum Bob. Ran from August to September of 1998 on ABC. Only 7 episodes. Starring Beau Bridges as an eccentric judge. It was hilarious and I can't imagine why it didn't survive. Always something exploding in the background. https://youtu.be/u6Vg_e0RiR8?si=GNnaWAqKRMNMD-pm Jeff
