  1. Very cool build. The tire chains are a great addition. I love how you made them. The interior details look great also. Jeff
  2. I'm working on a project that requires 8 tractor tires all the same size. I wasn't looking forward to purchasing several tractor kits just for the tires and wheels. So after searching ebay for old toy tractors with which to rob the tires from, I came across this. A toy from China that was around $18.00. The scale listed on the box said 1:16, but a pic with the dimensions in the ad showed it looked closer to 1:25 or about. After finding a vendor in the states and not in China, I took a gamble and ordered 2. They are definitely more toy-like, but will suit my purpose perfectly. The soda can is just for size reference. They are offered in many different models as seen on the box in the second pic. But my take on these is that they are copying model kits and re-engineering them as toys. Interesting to say the least. The tractor kit really looks cool. Jeff
  3. I always hated those fake spare tires on the back of '80's Cadillac Seville's. Although, now they take me back to a simpler time. Jeff
  4. Actually, this is probably the largest kit box and kit, lol. 15 grand doesn't sound like a bad deal. https://thejeepsterman.com/products/jeep-in-crate-mb-1942-willys-jeep?srsltid=AfmBOoo--Usj_Vtj83dxieuqVFPxba8bf6faLfagbvzKmse99r0VHCbv Jeff
  5. Maximum Bob. Ran from August to September of 1998 on ABC. Only 7 episodes. Starring Beau Bridges as an eccentric judge. It was hilarious and I can't imagine why it didn't survive. Always something exploding in the background. https://youtu.be/u6Vg_e0RiR8?si=GNnaWAqKRMNMD-pm Jeff
  6. Very nice model of an unusual subject. Great job. Jeff
  7. The caretaker/guide of our local historical society museum used to say, " not all change, is progress." I miss her, she passed away a number of years ago. Jeff
  8. Great to hear the good news. I wish the S.S. United States could have met a similar fate. Just can't save everything I guess. Jeff
  9. Great looking parts. I'm looking forward to the hoods being available again. Keep up the good work. Jeff
  10. I call bullhocky. He didn't build that, he invented a shrinkray and shrank a restored one down to scale. 😮 Incredible modeling skills. Jeff
  11. Yea, I almost got suckered in with one of their videos about the upcoming 2025 '57 Chevy Belair. When I saw that the bowtie logo was backwards, I realized it was a fake. Very good fakes and convincing videos. I wish Chevy really was putting out something with style again, might bring me back to their dealership. Jeff
  12. Cool project. Nothing looks better than some Budd shiny stainless passenger cars. But that finish gradually was sanded down by the micro dust kicked up by the thousands of miles of railroading these cars saw over their life on class 1 railroads. I've been around many stainless cars over the years on numerous tourist railroads and even though they were washed regularly, the matte finish on the stainless was noticeable. They still shined, just not as bright as when new. So even if there's still some corrosion on the surface when you're done, they'll look great after all the attention you're planning on giving them. Can't wait to see them when all finished. Jeff
  13. Nice job. Cant wait to see where this one goes Jeff
  14. Cool video. I like the scale rotaries in action too. https://youtu.be/9NT6gEiqpWA?si=KNoAZFKylcg11Uz5 Jeff
  15. Cool Jeep. Nice modifications to make it like yours. Jeff
  16. That's cool. My favorite era of monster trucks, the early days like yours. That's what I grew up with and modeled back in the day when all of those great kits were first released. The AMT ones were the most accurate as they had the scale 5 ton military axles and 66 inch Goodyear terra tires. The Monogram kits came in a close second as they had the bigger 74 inch Goodyears, but the suspension was too goofy and weak looking. The MPC kits had decent suspension, but the tires were undersized. It was fun mixing parts to make different trucks back then. I really like the Luv body on there. Very period correct. Nice build. Jeff
  17. Wow! That is smashmouth paint. Very cool model and I vaguely remember those paint jobs from back in the day. Well done. Jeff
  18. Really cool build. I like all of your custom work. Never heard of that movie, now my curiosity has the better of me. I love Big Trouble In Little China too. Jeff
  19. Fortunate enough to never break anything on my '57 Chevy while drag racing, but I did shear off a pinion shaft on the rear while trying a burnout. Didn't have the slapper bars on the axle tubes yet and the rear twisted when I dumped the clutch. Luckily, I was in front of my garage, so I inspected the damage, pushed the car back into the garage, and closed the door for another day. Made this trophy for the local slot car drag strip for our AA/FA class. The winner's names were recorded on the trophy each week for all of posterity. It's topped by a nitromethane piston/rod remains I bought off of ebay years ago. I thought it was appropriate for the class. Jeff
  20. Well, we never thought we'd see the Garwood garbage packer either, yet it was finally released. Maybe..... Jeff
  21. I think Coca-Cola by far is the biggest. Not as many race cars, but they did put it on a monster truck. But they aren't really sponsored vehicles like the Miller beer ones are either. Jeff
  22. Found a supply of the Scout grills. Please close. Thank you. Jeff
