Grocery prices and gas price. Went grocery shopping today and filled up with gas. I should be used to these high prices but continue to be amazed at the cost of some things. Then I'm kind of surprised at how cheap a few things are. Very few. Not gonna go into specifics but overall it's painful to go to the store. Just gotta deal with it and move on.

Yes, always liked him too. Never remember reading a bad thing about him and sure enjoyed his movies.

Wow, can't remember the last time I saw a Neon on the road.

I never "see" them in my yard but enjoy listening to the crickets all night during the summer. Strange that last night was the first time I didn't hear them. Maybe it's getting too cold at night now. I did enjoy hearing an owl hooting very close to our open bedroom window. After a bit he moved further away but was still asking the same question "who, who, who"?

Costco has this new thing where you can pay extra and be an "Executive Member" which gets you in an hour earlier than the peasants. I'm not about to pay more as there are some months I don't even go there so it's not worth it. Anyway, today was the first time I witnessed the cluster this thing causes. I should point out that I go to stores when they open. Grocery shopping at 6 AM and other stores early and Costco when they open. Now Costco is already open for the fancy members while the rest of us have to stand and wait. Some people don't know about this new deal so they try to go in and are told they can't. We're told to form a line to one side so the "royalty" can go in but that doesn't work very well. Once inside it's very crowded because there are all the early entry people and now the rest of us. So this new thing just causes a lot of turmoil for everyone and I wonder how many customers might spring for the new scam so they can go in early which would be the the previous regular time for everyone.

Very nice stone design and work. A LOT of work but I don't need to tell you.

What's with the U.S.Post office these days?
TonyK replied to styromaniac's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I went to the post office yesterday to mail a business size envelope that was a bit thick so knew a basic stamp wasn't going to do. The guy tested the size in a slot and weighed it and the cost was $1.90. Sheesh! Also needed 10 stamps for the wife to do her executor duties for her moms estate and was humored when the guy offered a few different colorful stamps. Didn't need anything fancy but came away with some hearts on a stamp. 🙄 -
Sirius XM decided to drop the Beach Boys channel already. They do this every year where they bring it on for maybe a month and then it's gone. I was hoping it would be a permanent channel like the Beatles, Ozzy, Tom Petty, etc.

My wife has no problems with hearing but uses closed captioning all the time when she watches tv. I hate it so when we watch something together it's off.

As a couple of others have said, this model is just too far out there for me but..... I did enjoy looking at your nice building skills to finish such a bizarre model.

Lots of work and it shows. Excellent model!

I'm not the most educated when it comes to buying things on Amazon because the wife usually does it but I have bought things before and shipping is always free since we have Prime. Been debating whether to buy a certain model that I finally found and $20 shipping was applied and wouldn't get the thing for a month. Asked the wife about it and she gave some long explanation about this and that..... So I'm not gonna buy it. Don't need it that much.

On the subject of school bus drivers......My daughter-in-law drives a school bus and she's pretty strict with the kids. I accused her of being this guy.

Thunder at 3 this morning and now it's raining. Nothing in the forecast which I always find funny with all the million $$$ computer stuff they have. Anyway, not complaining as we really need the rain and I won't have to spend time watering.

Your model captures the mean look of a Fuel Altered. Great job!

Oh man, those chassis and engine pics are great! A pleasure to look at such excellent work. A very nice model!

70 at 5 AM. Been having some humid couple of days in the upper 80's. Before that was dry and 100. It's the end of August so I just remind myself it's summer and before long we'll be back to crappy weather.

1966 Ford F350 Ramp Truck

Lots of work and a lot of weathering. Looks well used and I like it! -
Probably my favorite style Funny Cars from that era. You did some excellent work on these and the stance is just right. I always have a bit of trouble with that.

I never considered myself a bad modeler until I tried to build Salvino's Modified kit. I kept at it and set it aside and got it back out and tried some more but finally gave up. Back to the MPC kits.......I've had my problems with some of their kits but nothing that couldn't be solved eventually. They have a long history of many nice models that I can't pass on and happy to have a 2nd chance to build the reissues.

That's what I've done too.

Yes, the color combo looks good and the whole car looks sharp.

Pleased that Sirius XM added the Beach Boys channel.
