  1. Typical Tamiya kit that goes together well. Tamiya TS-12 orange paint and decals that went on without any problems. Very enjoyable build.
  2. This is from the Hydroplane Museum in Kent, WA. They offer many different choices with Allison or turbine engines. An interesting kit is the way I would describe it. The decals went on very well. The clear cockpit needs to be masked and painted to look correct and I decided to paint the entire wing assembly instead of using the decals provided.
  3. One of my favorites too. I really like your open areas to show your nice detail painting.
  4. Very nice work on everything, especially the camera.
  5. That clock from 1950 being electric surprised me. Seems all older clocks were wind-up back then. Shows how much I know.
  6. Very sharp model! I built this many years ago and remember it being awfully fiddly. You did good!
  7. There are some musicians that can make an instrument "sing" and he was one of them. His music was nice to listen to.
  8. Whoa! You didn't tell us how you took care of this. I'd be interested as you're more of a man than I would be.
  9. Quite the entertainer. I used to enjoy his antics.
  10. Thanks for the morphine tip. Interesting thing about Hospice is they didn't want to take the morphine. That just amazes me that we can be so lax with such a dangerous drug like that. A side note and irk........My wife is the executor for her mom so is trying to do a lot of things right now. Informing and canceling all ties and business stuff, etc. Some people/companies/banks are very nice and helpful and some are dicks. You get put on hold for a half hour and then it hangs up or they want info that has nothing to do with closing accounts, etc. The worst one so far is Triple A. They want her to come to the office with a death certificate to cancel! She was pissed. I told her to tell them "you know what".
  11. Black Sabbath was always a favorite "go to" when I want to listen to some hard rock. Still remember giving away my Vol. 4 album in the early days because the music freaked me out. Don't know how to describe it but I bought it again in my adult years. So many great songs from them over the years. Thank you Ozzy!
  12. Ours used to but it wasn't on the current list. I thought of calling them. I've also heard some store pharmacy's take unwanted pills. We'll see. In addition to this, we have some morphine too. You'd think that would be strictly regulated and kept track of but here we are and nobody seems to care about it. Will have to find out how we can take that back.
  13. He sure provided me with many hours of pleasure building his excellent models.
  14. The mother-in-law died last week. That's not the irk as she was 95 and it was time. Cleaning out her place and we have gathered a 5 gallon bucket and a box full of prescription pills and some other expired supplements. I like to do things the proper way and found a place that accepts unwanted pills. Went there today and the "blue box" was locked. A guy walks up to me and says it must be full. Can I come back on Thursday? Really?! Now I know why people don't bother with things like this and just throw stuff in the garbage. I won't do that but sure hope I can dispose of this on Thursday.
  15. I quick weighing myself years ago. I can tell more from how my clothes fit and my once a year visit to the doctor.
  16. Great job on the pod racer! I bought one of these to build someday for something different. I'll use your excellent pictures as a guide.
  17. Realized I never got my credit card bill in the mail. I pay online but this means someone out there gets to look at everything we bought, etc. Nice job USPS! Never did get my July issue of Motorsport so that's somewhere out there too. The very nice people with the magazine sent me a replacement.
  18. A nice thing about replacing an old furnace is they are so much quieter and efficient today. Yes, it's expensive but you're good to go from here on out.
  19. It's a complete kit. Chassis is all one piece with roll bar, suspension, etc. already put together. Nice and easy except it takes a lot of finesse to paint all the parts since they're already attached. I've done it before and I like it for a different challenge from our regular kits. No idea what part of the country this car represents or if it is accurate. I thought it looked cool so got it. I spend way too much time researching the accuracy of race cars I build and sometimes I just want to relax and build one without fretting over the details.
  20. Very true. I've never been a fan of Cougars but looking at these pictures of the interior and exterior takes me back to the good ol' days and I do appreciate a well taken care of car.
  21. I was out watering and working in the yard when a bug flew into my head. It hit so hard that it dropped to the ground stunned. Have no idea what it was but it always amazes me when I'm outside and get hit by a flying bug. There's a whole world out there and they manage to fly into me. Do they randomly fly into objects often? The enjoyable part of being outside is how often a hummingbird flies up and looks me up and down and then flies away. And I've never been hit in the head by one.
  22. Not so much an irk as it is so stupid I get a chuckle from it. Two texts on my phone this morning. UPS tried to deliver a package but...... I don't even read it all. Why would UPS have my phone # and I don't have anything on order so they didn't attempt to deliver anything. The other text was something about a part-time job I can get........ Well, I've been retired for umpteen years and if I wanted a job I don't think I'd try and get one from some bogus text. The wife got a letter from Canada saying some relative with the same last name died up there (seemed like it was a few years ago) and there's some unclaimed life insurance. Yeah ok LOL
  23. This is a 3d model I got from A-1 Raceworks. A decent kit where everything fit together nicely except for the wheels and tires. I've had the same problem with other 3d models from different providers where the wheels won't slide into the tires and you have to spend LOTS of time scraping the inside of the tire to get the wheel to fit. Otherwise I had fun building it and added a few things; driver, front and rear bars, window and rear view mirror. Paint is Testors.
  24. Repair guy came today to fix our washing machine. Needs a new mother board or some-such electronic part. Not very expensive but he doesn't have it so ordered it. Gonna be a couple of weeks! Meantime we're running out of clean clothes. Sister-in-law lives about 8 miles away and my son offered to come to his place which is farther away. Nice to have that available but still a pain. Meantime my mother-in-law appears to be dying. She's 95 so it's time. Oh, and I'm taking my wife in tomorrow for a steroid shot in the spine. Just a lot of happy happy joy joy.
