What's with the U.S.Post office these days?
TonyK replied to styromaniac's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
It's too bad you have to think about this but it's the way it is anymore. -
Who was building in the 60s?
TonyK replied to OldNYJim's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Always enjoy reading young life stories. We all have them. Got to think kids nowadays don't have interesting childhood experiences like we did. -
Saw a tv commercial last night for Alka-Seltzer Plus where you just put a fizzy tablet in your mouth. No dropping it in water. That's got to be weird. Call me strange but I love Alka-Seltzer. I tell the wife I wish I'd get sick or have indigestion so I have an excuse to take it but I never need to. She thinks I'm nuts.

When walking my dogs I never let them go in someone's yard; #1 or #2. There is space between the street and sidewalk or the field or some other place. And I always pick up. The really frustrating thing is when I'm picking my dog poo up right next to some that didn't get picked up.

I agree with shoopdog. Nicely done. -
My sister-in-law has chickens but they don't produce much in the winter. Something to do with the temperature and short daylight.

Egg prices. I couldn't make myself buy a dozen at the store but I'll have to eventually. I wonder how restaurants are dealing with this on their menu prices. Got to be a nightmare.

Mobius The Riddler

Good job on all those decals AND the model. The Riddler was always my favorite bad guy. -
I refuse to use those combined tubes with the push bar for many reasons as some were mentioned above. The little separate tubes became hard to find so I bought the Bob Smith brand at Hobby Lobby and have been real happy with it. I'm very attentive to getting equal amounts out and very attentive to mixing it well and it works out well for me. You do have to be smart about the surface you're using it on and what you're trying to glue together. I use CA glue some but only on very little parts that aren't going to be strained or require strength to support anything.

What he said. Look at the many online model sites and you'll find what you'll need.

HPI Guy, 1982 DeLorean DMC-12 1/24 Scale Model Kit Aoshima
TonyK replied to Bill Eh?'s topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I still remember seeing one of these at an All British Field Meet and I wasn't impressed. The owner was very friendly and had everything opened and talked to us about it. -
Had a similar situation years ago (not meds) where FedEx wouldn't deliver a Chewy order because of the weather. I told them I've been out driving around the streets and I could drive to the FedEx place and pick it up myself! It was about half hour from me.

Always like watching them work on a bag or whatever to get out the contents. They can be loud at times but I find it funny when it sounds like a heated conversation among many of them.

Fed Ex. They were supposed to pick up a pre-paid Fed-Ex package from us yesterday morning but didn't show up. Wife called at noon and they said they'd be here in 2 hours. 5pm and still no pick up so wife calls and they have the address and confirmation # all wrong. Said they'd pick it up today. It's some stuff the wife had to do to be sent to a lab and can't do it on the weekend so supposedly they'll show up Monday. Fed-Ex sucks!!!

Falcon Ranchero made me smile with the discovery of a couple of tunes from the 70's. I'm glad you enjoyed them and hope you discover some other great music from that era.

The past few weeks I've looked for super glue at my local store. I go grocery shopping and wander down to the section with paint and adhesives but all the hooks with super glue are empty. I buy Loctite or Duro brand and want the gel type. Luckily I don't need it right now but when I'm half way thru a tube I make sure to have some when that's gone. I wonder what the story is.

Another Example of Ineptitude by the USPS
TonyK replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Lots of things come to mind when this happens like important mail that you may be waiting for and time sensitive mail, etc. And I wonder what they do with all this mail that isn't being delivered. Toss it in a pile in the corner of the post office?! You're gonna have to deliver it sometime and they're only compounding the problem. Just stupid. -
One of the old Lindberg kits released thru Dirt Track Racecars. These are fun and simple models that I enjoy building from time to time without much effort. Painted with Testors yellow and added some aftermarket wheels and tires that I don't remember where I got them from. Pictures were taken with a new phone so trying to get that figured out.

I should've said in the original post......the wood in the bed is a decal I had in my stash. Sorry to mislead anyone but I could never do that nice of a job with paint!

This AMT '53 Ford is still a nice kit after all these years. Used Testors red on this Coca-Cola model. I need to paint the vending machine that comes with the kit but masking it looks like a challenge.

This hasn't had an update for quite some time so thought I'd say something. This time of year it's been fun to see the squirrels fatten up a bit and that means they demand more food. I toss out an assortment of seeds every day. The birds benefit too. There are usually 4,5,6 squirrels at a time. There have been 8 a few times. Today I counted 10! Might be getting a little out of hand. 🤨

A very good write-up about the kit and your building experience. The model looks great!
