Comparison between Tamiya and Rustoleum
TonyK replied to bobthehobbyguy's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Got a can of Rustoleum "metallic". The cap is silver and I thought it would be a good color for all the aluminum parts I paint. Usually I use Testors silver but like to add other paints to my inventory. Very disappointed with it. First of all, there's hardly any color to it. After a couple of sprays I shook it a bunch more thinking I didn't mix it enough but it made no difference. Also, the smell was very strong. Obviously paint has a smell but this one was more than I've witnessed before. Very strange. -
Comparison between Tamiya and Rustoleum
TonyK replied to bobthehobbyguy's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Adding my 2 cents to the subject, Tamiya paints work excellent for me when I want a nice paint job on a body or whatever. Makes me look like I know how to paint. Rustoleum works well on interiors and chassis, etc. when I'm not concerned about perfection. Glad I'm not the only one who gets the clogged tips. Thought I was doing something wrong. -
These models look great with very nice detail. Nice save. The drivers add a lot to the entire package.

Yesterday the CW channel aired a repeat college baseball game instead of the NASCAR Xfinity race. Never had that happen before.

It's amazing how Amazon can deliver an order the next day or two after you place it but then they can completely fail other times. Placed an order a week ago and they said it would be delivered between March 3-5. Nope. Then said it would arrive yesterday, the 7th. Nope. Now they say the 14th!

That's a good looking racer. Lots to look at. Great work!

Good looking model and your paint job is sharp!

Yep. I really liked his character in Let It Ride with Richard Dreyfuss too.

Those modern era midgets look great!

Been waiting for someone to post this. Figured no one knew who he was so wasn't gonna post anything. Good guy and I liked his acting more than his music.

Good looking modified you've got there. Just enough dirt to make it look even better. I've used some Big Donkey modified bodies and really like them.

Great job! You took this kit to a new level with all your attention to detail.

Those '64 Mercury kits are nice. Good options included.

Issue 226 is On Its Way
TonyK replied to Dave Ambrose's topic in Model Cars Magazine News and Discussions
Thanks to everyone for the effort. I'm sure it will be worth the wait. -
Mr. Ivan is a good looking cat that looks just like the cat my friend had when we were kids. Hairy was his name and he used to disappear for a couple of days and come back all beat up. This would happen every now and then. The other cat he had always stayed around home.

Not surprised there were build problems with the kit but you'd never know by looking at your pictures. Looks great!

What's with the U.S.Post office these days?
TonyK replied to styromaniac's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I see big rubber bands lying on the street in front of the cluster boxes so I assume they were used around bundles of something or other. I have to smile when I think how hard it must be to bend over and pick these up when dropped. -
Well, that's a very different winter picture you don't expect to see.

Very sad to hear as he was one of my all time favorite actors. Strange situation so will be interesting to find out what happened. Such great acting roles from serious to comedy.

Happy for your breakfast experience. I sometimes wonder if a server gets so good at their job that they challenge themselves to do the memory thing. That and it should impress the customer. I know I'm impressed when they do that.

We have those big cluster boxes for our mail. The mailman opens the doors and has complete access to all the slots. A small box was tossed into our slot. The problem is when the big doors are closed you lose about 1/2 an inch in your slot because of the lip on the top and bottom where the little doors are to get your mail. I had to wrench and pry for awhile to get the box out of our slot. The mail carrier doesn't factor this in when shoving various items in there. But, I guess I should just be happy I got my mail!

Wow, I thought me going every 5 years was bad! Have to do that since my mom had a bit of colon cancer many, many years ago. Thanks mom. I've been fine but you don't mess around with that so every 5 years it is. And it's time. 😒
