  1. Looks good! I built this model a few years ago and had fun with it. Sometimes you need to build this kind of model and get away from the perfect paint jobs, etc. Hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.
  2. The people looting and starting fires in California. Those people!
  3. Your model turned out pretty good. There have been many times I don't buy kits like this because it's MPC and I know it won't be fun to build. You did good!
  4. I was going to say what the others already said. That's a very nice looking model. MPC kits can be fiddly but yours looks perfect.
  5. I rarely watch these review videos as I mostly rely on the magazine reviews for my info. I have noticed that even they sometimes confuse me when they point out all the flaws and then finish with "recommended". Huh? I should widen my knowledge by watching more of these videos but would probably grow tired of them quickly. Sounds like this A4 Garage outfit might be good though.
  6. I have built a few of these myself and happily no one has gifted me any more of them at Christmas. I have enjoyed success with some and failure with others.
  7. My memories of building in the 60's make me cringe remembering how I did things but I enjoyed it at the time. Used a pocket knife and twisted a lot of the parts off the trees. Used thread and for some reason I recall painting the air filter flat black when the element was visible. Don't know why I chose that color?! Never sanded the tires or mold lines. Mostly built drag racers and any other race car I could find. My best memory was riding my bike to the hobby shop where you never knew what would be new on the shelves. Yep, the 88 cent store had models too but I think they were $1.88 when I bought them.
  8. Good dog for doing "her business" outside anyway.
  9. This is a great looking model! The well done figures add to your scene and the weathering is excellent. Lots of patience with all the canopy painting it would seem.
  10. I've never seen wooden kits such as the ones you have but they look very nice. The ones I've built in the past range from simple to a bit more difficult and usually require white glue. I've enjoyed them for something different even though they are not plastic models and just like you, I'm not able to paint outside in the winter so these type of kits keep me busy. Enjoy.
  11. Never heard of this movie and I'm a big James Cagney fan. Shirley Jones was quite the babe when she was young. If you've seen any of her movies you'll know.
  12. Purchased a couple of bath towels and they shed fuzz in the wash and when you use them. Two washes and they still shed. Contacted the store on their website and I'm guessing the response I got is the dreaded AI because it has nothing to do with what I said. Something about "we're sorry there are products that aren't available in our store...." So frustrating.
  13. I have watched HPI guy for his review of what's in the box. It's important to me so I don't blindly spend my money on a kit and end up being disappointed. Model magazine reviews are very important to me for the same reason. His building technique doesn't really interest me but I notice he spray paints with one hand and brush paints with the other. I'm right handed and I would not be able to do one of those with the left hand.
  14. There used to be a car dealer named Friendly Chevrolet and they'd do late night tv commercials selling used cars with a guy who was not very good. He'd have a few cars in the showroom and walk over to the drivers side and you could tell he was reading the cars features from something on the seat. He'd point out it had a radio and heater, etc. This was in the early 70's. He'd like to say "come on down and kick a tire or two" and "our prices are lower than a belly of a bullfrog". Very amateur local stuff. Good laughs though.
  15. My dogs have peed a couple of times by the front door the last few days. There's a rug there so they got that too. Nothing has changed around here and I'm no dog expert but I might guess they're marking the area since we've had people here a couple of times around Christmas. But that was days ago. I don't get it. And it happened today after we came back in from outside.
  16. When I was a kid I had a life-size glow in the dark skull that I got for Christmas. After building the kit I kept it on top of my dresser. Thought it was cool to see it glow after I turned the lights off when I went to bed. Never thought about putting it somewhere to scare a family member.
  17. I grabbed the trailer diorama. Fun but can be challenging. Nice that the parts are already in their proper colors. The clear plastic for windows was missing in the box but luckily I have some.
  18. First time I've seen one of these built and it looks really good. Liked reading your experiences with the planes.
  19. This is a real nice AMT kit. The many pictures I found revealed numerous variations of paint colors so I just decided to make it whatever I wanted and used Tamiya Italian red and Testors white.
  20. What the...?! Sorry to read all your trouble building this but I'm glad you finished it. So much innovation. Really enjoyed looking at it and then your interior pics brought even more enjoyment. Thanks for sharing your unique model!
  21. Great facial expressions!

    Old time garage

A Fujimi garage with a nostalgic look. Had some fun coming up with a situation and decided on a couple of business men who stopped in to have a flat tire fixed before getting on with their day.
  23. Fujimi garage diorama that are somewhat simple but fun to work on every so often until I decide it's done. Went with a small engine repair shop theme with motorcycles, a lawn mower and go-cart. Various items from model extras and scratch made things to complete the look. Didn't take very good pics so it's difficult to see some things.
