Always thought the Cord was a cool car but never built a model for some reason. Yours looks great!

Always remember when I was a kid my Dad telling me when he was stationed in England with the Air Force he never saw the sun. This was in the 1950's. I found that funny and why I still remember it to this day.

Got an extended version of a "unpaid toll" scam today. Final notice (if only), DMV will confiscate my car, credit will be ruined, along with some other threats. It was quite humorous reading it. btw, I've never been to a place to pay tolls so that makes this even more fun. Idiots.

I think everyone has built that '53 Ford pickup and probably have another in our stash.

I wouldn't call it a classic or a collectible. I'd focus on the "well maintained" part of it as you should be proud of what you've done all these years to keep it in good shape. The person interested can decide for themselves if they consider it a classic or collectible but the fact the car is in excellent shape ought to impress the buyer. It's been a long time since I tried to sell a car but I still remember the characters you end up dealing with. Some try to find fault with everything and others might be respectful of you and the car. Good luck.

I like the stance and I think this goofy looking car lends itself to whatever you want. Nice job.

How many models are you working on at one time?

Several builds going at the same time. I can work on whatever I'm in the mood for when I walk up to the bench. Detail painting, sanding, prepping parts, glue parts together, etc. I can paint a body and set it aside for a week if I want because I've got plenty of other things to keep me busy until it's good and dry. -
It hasn't rained here in awhile so I finally watered plants in the yard yesterday and told the wife "It will rain now". Rained over night and this morning.

He did a lot and lived a long life. Everyone has to know who he is. Did he die on 4/27? How appropriate. -
What's with the U.S.Post office these days?

This past week I've had 2 shipments from 2 different companies get here 1 day before the tracking had it listed. Amazing. Things are going to start changing for the better? Or is this a fluke? -
When we had some remodeling done I had some good conversations with the older plumber and the lack of interest from the younger generation doing any physical work. Much of what has been mention earlier on this very subject. All these kids go to college to learn how to sit in a cubicle. The plumber emphasized we need to fill positions in the field and they can make very good money and the work isn't all that tough. Interesting thing was the electricians I had were fairly young and loved their job. Good money and decent work conditions. So many younger folk don't explore what's needed out in the real world. They just keep following in the footsteps of the ones before them.

Looks like a real nice home right now.

My 2nd build and I'm learning a bit more each time. There's a lot of detail painting on the chassis but can't be seen unless you're holding it in your hand. I enjoyed the challenge since it's all one piece and can't be painted like you would normally do on a plastic model. Body is Tamiya light blue.

Seems like a Pepe Le Pew situation. 😁

I know nothing of the Stranger Things series but that pizza van looks like it could be a fun build. Anyone have a review of the kit?
-
Fun! A lot to look at and very well done.
-
Wow, that's something different. And well done!

The downside of the hobby - what annoys you?

I've been dealing with 3d printed wheels that are a tad too big for the 3d printed tires. A long tedious process hollowing out the tires for the wheels to fit. -
Been fighting a Salvino's modified model kit off and on for quite some time. Nothing seems to fit so today I threw it back in the box. I've built a few of their stock cars and didn't have near this amount of trouble. I'm working on a Revell IMSA Mustang kit at the same time and it's a joy to build. 90's technology and everything fits nicely.

Used to be everyone had a "first car" story to tell as we only had enough money to get some kind of transportation. Nowadays I've seen most young kids get a real nice car provided for them as a first car. Not gonna have any good stories to tell and their 2nd car won't be a wonderful improvement we've enjoyed after that first car.

Not real interested in the pickup but the dirt bike is 1/16th scale too? Don't think I've seen that kit before.

This happens to me too. But I always tell the wife "I'm just glad I can still do it".
