  1. Here's a few but I don't recall the exact kit. A 1/43rd garage scene with a metal car that was already painted (I think) but everything else needed to be painted.
  2. The Big Lebowski
  3. You're exactly right. The "hobby" is interesting no matter what the subject is and that's why I read this magazine from cover to cover. And Lowriders......A model of them and/or a real car makes my jaw drop. The talent these people have to create those paint jobs are unreal. Great job on the magazine btw.
  4. I got what you were saying and feel the same way. Let the young enthusiastic ones learn this new stuff but I still enjoy reading about it.
  5. A great collection of various versions of this model. I like these models but always have a problem coming up with different builds but you obviously have a knack for it and the talent to complete them in a realistic way. Thanks for sharing and hopefully we'll see many more.
  6. The usual. FedEx. Informed me for a week that my delivery would be Thursday Sep. 1st but didn't get it. Now it says "pending" and it's been sitting in Wisconsin.
  7. Yes, I'll be getting a couple of these!
  8. Thank you for the Crab Bucket Theory reference. Never heard of it before but it's so obvious when you read about it. Also "thanks" because it's nice to learn things when you're old. Learning is brain healthy.
  9. I like Tamiya paints; spray and bottle. Mostly rely on bottle paints for lots of small detail painting but a couple of the spray colors mentioned above work well for large parts. Never thought of looking at the military colors for more variety in metal so will have to do that. Buying online is how I get Tamiya paints so I try to combine a model purchase with some paint to make the shipping cost worth it.
  10. "Oh George....Not the livestock."
  11. I use that Christmas Vacation quote a lot. It can be applied in so many ways.
  12. Not gonna do any 3D printing but don't mind buying some if they offer something really good.
  13. That was a good "sermon". I'm always aware of how many people have things worse than I do whenever I start feeling down about some things. I also take time to smell the roses as the saying goes. This actually belongs in what pleases me but it doesn't hurt to make this spot a bit better.
  14. O Brother where art thou.
  15. Excellent build! The weathering and chipped paint on the body and propeller along with everything else is great. Thanks for sharing.
  16. Reminds me of way back when I was frying up some hamburger in a pan with no shirt on. Splattering grease on your skin hurts. I have never cooked shirtless again.
  17. I really like this kit but already built it a long time ago so no point in buying another one. I hope it sells well.
  18. First one is from Animal House. Could the 2nd one be Back to the Future?
  19. I use Solvaset when needed and it works really well. Never have used heat and never clear coat either but you can get 10 different suggestions from 10 different guys. Maybe the decals suck. I've had decals that applied so well that I'm giggly excited about it and then there's ones like you are having trouble with.
  20. Funny how some of these paints last many years and others gum up after only a couple and thinner won't even save it. The Model Master line of paints is a big loss for me especially the steel color.
  21. That's my answer. Jake giving excuses to save his life. heh heh
  22. Always enjoy looking at a good diorama as it shows the builders imagination and skill. This one is great! A fun subject.
  23. Hate to hear such things. I don't know how you cope with such a thing. I'm afraid for myself when the time comes for my dogs. Thanks for sharing the photo.
  24. Yes, 13 or 15 cents or 2 for 25 cents if I remember. Same with a tube of glue; about 15 cents.
