  1. A very nice and interesting story.
  2. Yes, he is amazing in Papillion and so is Dustin Hoffman. Those 2 are great in almost every movie they do. Papillion made me hate nuns and love island girls. heh heh
  3. Not a great kit to build but after seeing other builds on here I decided to go for it. Many fit issues and the wheels and tires don't even begin to fit one another. The decals were hit and miss on staying together or falling apart. Just happy to have it done.
  4. The Moebius model that was very enjoyable to build until I attempted to glue the windows in. Was very troubling until I realized the wrong clear sprue was in the kit. Contacted Moebius and they sent me the correct windows and everything fit great. Great customer service from them! Used an old can of Boyd Sunburst paint that wanted to give me trouble coming out of the can but I eventually got it done.
  5. A very good friend sent me the decals so I could build this car. AMT model with Testors paint, PPP wheels and tires, and metal exhaust tips.
  6. Not a fan of remakes either. Especially don't understand when someone wants to remake a movie such as Bullitt when you've got Steve McQueen as the star. Really? How ya gonna replace him?!
  7. I'm in awe! Outstanding work!
  8. All those B17's bring a smile to me but also realizing what happened to them is sad; but I understand with the times.
  9. Great job on this! Yes, it's gruesome but it captures the goofy movie as it was. What model is it?
  10. Same experience as above. Also had a couple of bucks refunded when the shipping was less than expected. Honest people are hard to find these days and I'd happily order from them again.
  11. I've been wanting model companies to make 2 door "regular" cars for years. I get that the SS versions of cars or the high performance versions are exciting but want your average car now and then. The family car. Ones with bench seats, etc.
  12. Sorry to hear of your loss but it's always great when someone beat the odds for so long. Good for her! Had a friend die of leukemia back in 1989 when he was only 32. Another one of those cruel cancers that strike someone from out of nowhere for no reason.
  13. Saw a short video where they were questioning an employee of Leno and he confirmed the accident and said he'll be fine. Burns are never easy to deal with and takes a lot of time and medical care. It will be interesting to hear from Leno himself what exactly happened.
  14. VERY educational and still, VERY sad.
  15. Very sharp! I like your comments that you've learned a lot as it's one thing to learn, but another to apply it to a great looking model. I couldn't have done it.
  16. This AWB Chevelle brings back childhood memories of a combo kit with the '63 Impala and trailer. Unless I'm remembering it wrong?
  17. I know I'm way out there with this thought but keep waiting for one of these companies to re-release a couple of those European race trucks. Probably not popular enough to do so. Missed them way back when and not sure who even made them and no, I don't do ebay.
  18. Just read this a few minutes ago. Sickening to think of the lives lost doing something they love and for the people having to witness such a thing. B-17 is my favorite airplane and there aren't many around anymore, right?
  19. In the summer with windows open all night I've heard them off in the distance at businesses. Just like those giant sweepers cleaning the parking lots it's the only time they can easily blow everything. Besides the noise and pollution of leaf blowers, I hate when they just blow everything somewhere else. They don't pick it up, they just blow it off the property!
  20. He was great! Such good entertainment as there was nobody like him. Sad news.
  21. Very nice! The model itself and your building skills are impressive for 1/32nd scale.
  22. Got our 4th and final kitchen appliance yesterday; dishwasher. The delivery guys called and said they'd be here in 20-30 minutes but showed up an hour later. Installation went good but after they left I realized there's no owners manual, quick start guide, or warranty papers. Wife called Home Depot customer service and Whirlpool and got no where. Always telling her to go online and print everything. She argued we're not going to spend our time and money (ink cost and paper) to print entire manuals and warranty paperwork that should be included with our purchase. Suggested the delivery guys who just left should bring us the booklets, etc. who obviously tossed it with all the other stuff when they pulled it from the box. Told us there's no way of contacting them. Bull! Amazing how no one is willing or capable of doing their job right anymore.
  23. Those were the days! Funny how heavy it looks compared to todays bikes.
  24. Alan, you've done an excellent job on the kit and explaining your build experience. I've built this kit a few times starting back when I was a kid and it's not a great kit but as you pointed out, it can be done with some patience. Also agree with your comment on the lack of sprint car parts included. Seems they would've attracted more attention to the kit with multiple build options as it was in the past.
