  1. A great actor. Every time he showed up in a part there was something about him that captured my attention as I knew he would dominate the screen. And he gave us Mira Sorvino so there's that.
  2. I have enjoyed building Moebius kits in the past, so much that I've bought the same kit to build another version. Planned on buying this ramp truck but you guys have made my decision not to. Too bad that Moebius goofed up and I hope the ones who get a good kit enjoy your build. I look forward to seeing them when done.
  3. Very nice model! The whole diorama scene looks good. One of the things about Tom Daniel cars is to throw out all things realistic which allows for a radical custom.
  4. I know where it is! When I was young on vacation with my family I still remember it was HOT. In fact, that's the hottest place I have ever been to. The thermometer was pegged at 120 but it was in the sun but still always remember that place.
  5. Most Steely Dan songs just need to be listened to and enjoyed but I can think of a few songs that would make you want to dance some. Reminds me of one of the wife's cousins who used to ruin a good dance party when he put on The Doors. Just not a group that makes you want to dance. Good music but not for dancing.
  6. I don't mind bringing our attention to an obit when it's full of interesting facts of their life that some of us have forgotten or didn't know. I look at it as a "celebration of life" sort of thing and it's always good to see if someone lived a good long life. Still sad that someone has died but it happens.
  7. Same thing happened to me with a can of Model Master but used the paint anyway and seemed just fine.
  8. She tells me it's Arachnoiditis so that's where I got the spider name. She also has Stenosis. <sigh>
  9. Me, I'm fine but the wife has problems. Sciatica for years and had a tumor removed from her spine back in the 80's and another back surgery years later. She has something called Spideritis. Not the real name but it's the way I remember it. Takes a ton of Gabapentin every day and I just have to watch and hear the suffering. I can understand all you guys and am thankful I don't have any of this but still have to live with it through my wife.
  10. Wow! That Chevelle looks just a bit complicated. LOL I'm always in awe of the knowledge some people have to do things like this and wonder when we'll run out of them...the people I mean.
  11. That is a good story about the air conditioner problem getting fixed but now I want to know more about the "two extra parrots".
  12. This is one of the reasons I enjoy the forum. The information, good and bad help make my decision whether to buy another kit or not. I have plenty of kits and not as much patience building them these days and don't need the frustration of dealing with warped parts.
  13. Very nice! The car looks ancient now but still looks fast also.
  14. All of these are excellent!
  15. Something about him always made me laugh whatever he was in. F Troop was just so dumb it was good.
  16. Geez, that truck is hurtin'. Great looking diorama.
  17. Always liked him and just read an article about this. Was surprised they didn't mention Rollerball in it. I remember it being popular back then even though it was pretty bad in my opinion. He was good in Elf playing a character you didn't expect.
  18. I painted this just like the box art because I thought it looked good that way. The model went together pretty good and there were a lot of extra parts to build this different ways if one wanted to.

    Toyota Celica

Excited to find this Aoshima '77 Celica because I used to own one. It's a right hand drive so I just darkened the windows and painted the body with Tamiya gloss aluminum. Found some 3d printed wheels that were similar to what I had and something out of my parts box to resemble center caps. Nothing special but it's not often I find a model of one of my cars from the past.
  20. I worked on this off and on while building other kits so can't remember exact issues. Overall I think Salvino's makes nice models but between the instructions and parts fit it almost feels like they've rushed things. Just a few parts that don't fit right but we deal with that all the time and make adjustments. And then there's no rear window straps which is odd to omit. You should get the model.
  21. It came with a piece to fit in the hole so that was easy. I should've filled with putty and sanded but just left it.
  22. The checks I sent to my lawyer a month ago just showed up at her office today with a postmark on the envelope of July 1. I sent it June 2nd. Since then I put a stop payment on the checks and wrote new ones and drove them to her office which is about 20 minutes away. Worthless USPS.
  23. GTM Models version of the Ken Miles Cobra seen in Ford vs. Ferrari. It's a Cobra model with some extra parts thrown in to loosely make the movie car. I added some headers and an exhaust system to exit out the back but didn't get everything exactly right.
  24. This is a real nice Revell model. Lots of parts but it all went together well. Painted with Tamiya bright red.
  25. This is the "sticker" version of the Petty Charger. I wanted to try it along with an unpainted body and it worked out pretty well. It takes a bit of patience and care but no different than decals. The model itself is alright. Odd instructions that aren't all that clear about certain parts and a few mistakes too but nothing that a seasoned modeler can't figure out. I noticed the hood wasn't sitting right but it does if I was more alert before taking pictures.
