  1. Never heard of Samantha Fish but was curious about the odd guitars you mentioned so gave a listen. I kind of like the music. And yes, definitely nice to look at. My wife liked the music too.
  2. Time for another delivery complaint. All week long UPS showed I'd get my package by 7 pm Friday but on Friday it showed "on its way" which meant I didn't get it. Today it says delivery by 7 pm again with "on its way". As far as I know UPS doesn't deliver on Saturday unless it was requested or critical or a business and none of those are me. I usually prefer UPS for my shipping but seems they've fallen into the same hole as the others.
  3. Very nice model. All your detail painting looks great! That had to be a nightmare painting the "string bikini" parts.
  4. I can't stand the sound of bagpipes. Well, I do like them in AC/DC's "It's a long way to the top....." I had to check this video out mostly because of the girl but I kind of like it. Sort of a Trans-Siberian Orchestra take on the sound of bagpipes.
  5. That Ford Drag Combo kit is a steal! I'm not planning on buying it for the prices I've seen but I definitely would for that amount. Good for you.
  6. Looks like a fun build and you did it well. I like the pilot. He looks very British!
  7. Very nice looking model! You got the stance right and the entire model is very clean looking. Yes, the decals can be a real disappointment after you put in all that good work. As the others have said, I've had it happen too.
  8. There's a page in the New Products section about a parking garage which prompted me to buy one. I got the 4 car version and can say it's pretty nice. Plexiglass on all sides so it becomes a display case. The strange thing is the lighting is not battery powered. Included is a cord that you can plug into your computer or as I did, plug into my phone charger in the wall. Not my top choice for conveniently doing things but I guess it's the way of the future. Thanks to Model Cars Magazine providing articles like this for modelers.
  9. Great job! Brought a smile to my face because of how well you did on the model and the nostalgia.
  10. Thanks for the info but I doubt I'll buy the kit just for the exhaust. Nice looking model btw.
  11. Fraudulent charges on my credit card the last couple of weeks so called and disputed them. First person was hard to understand so turned it over to the wife as she's better at understanding "English-as-second-language" people. Person wasn't much help as she basically told us the info on the charges that we could already see on the statement and wanted us to call one of the companies to dispute the charge! That's your job! Eventually we got disconnected. Really? Called again and went thru the whole process with a better speaking and understanding person and cancelled the card. Yeah, that's not a hassle. Now I try to access the website and apparently I don't exist! Can't do anything without a card number so guess I have to wait until I get the new card.
  12. Went grocery shopping this morning at Fred Meyer/Kroger. First Tuesday every month is senior discount which is 10% off all Kroger products so I focus on that on this day. The computer didn't have the discount activated yet so the cashier and I waited and waited and waited. I shop right after they open which is 6 AM so there are rarely any customers except me which is great so luckily no line formed behind me. Anyway, she attempted to apply the discount manually on every Kroger item but it didn't take so I got screwed. It's 2022 and we still can't handle simple technology like programming this customer bonus into the system automatically and the result is I walk out the loser.
  13. I have the GTM model of the Ken Miles Cobra that needs headers and exhaust pipes angled to the rear of the car. This model comes with ones that angle out to side pipes which isn't correct for the movie car. I don't have much knowledge of this type of car and hope to find something in my stash box but would be "winging" it even if I do. Maybe an aftermarket company out there that has something? Thanks for the help.
  14. Looks really really good! I've done the wing struts myself and it ain't easy. You did a nice job.
  15. I don't consider the early Bee Gees or the Beach Boys "guilty pleasure" because I grew up with them and liked the music then and still do today. Same with the Four Seasons or anything similar from back then. Yes, I like the hard rock and similar rock music but what comes to mind is hearing the Go-Go's or Abba. Something about Belinda Carlisle's voice does it for me and I just enjoy hearing the voices of the 2 women blending together with Abba. Don't really like the songs but the voices I can appreciate.
  16. Agree with the above statements getting my magazine a bit quicker than the past which is always a good thing. A quick glance through the pages looks like a big variety of subjects and LOTS of content. Always enjoy reading every page even when the subject isn't something I may be interested in but that's how good I think this magazine is!
  17. Great picture! I'll have to show the wife as she is a big Yorkie fan.
  18. Nicely done and I like your simple look. I'm gonna take some ideas from your pictures whenever I get my kit delivered. Thanks for showing us your model and explaining what you've done.
  19. I say trick photography. Seriously, this is amazing! Looks so real and I like the dangerous road as it adds to the whole scene. Just such great work!
  20. I have a set from Micro-Mark. They're not cheap but they work great. Can't remember the brand right now but they come in a round domed case with about 15-20 bits.
  21. I'm not a great painter at all but always have good luck painting models black no matter if I use Testors or Tamiya. I've never used Duplicolor. Where do you guys buy it and do you always use primer or can it be applied to bare plastic?
  22. TonyK

    57 Chevy

Very clean and sharp! Did the display stand come with the kit and if so, which kit is it?
  23. I am pleased that I can still get up every day at 4 AM or so and drink my coffee and build models. I believe the problem solving and reasoning things out while building keeps the old mind fresh and functioning well.
  24. I witness this all the time but reading it somehow makes it worse even though I know it's there. The way we grew up formed a better brain to cope with the world around us. We did things. We were outside learning about dirt, cement, plants, nature, cars, traffic, weather, etc. Y'know, things that could hurt you or please you, smells that are good or bad. I have a college educated sister-in-law that has her cell phone within arms reach at all times. She'll pick it up every so often even if it hasn't made a sound. She's 63 years old. Just seeing people's actions in a store show they aren't trained how to do things in a logical way. While watching sports on tv these days I like to see how many people are looking at their cell phones instead of watching the game. Sad what we've become. Hope this didn't seem like an old guy rant but more of an observation linked to the above subject.
  25. Thank you. It sure does look like it but darned if I can find anything that comes close to it for a model.
