Sent a check to my lawyer on June 3rd after we wrapped up my mom's estate. She still hasn't got it. Almost drove to her office to hand it to her which is 15 minutes away but figured how could the US mail screw it up. They did!

You bring up some good info that has been tossed about every so often for people to recognize. The strange effects on our bodies from various ingredients can cause problems but I try to use the "discipline" approach when I eat. Pour some cereal in a bowl but keep it reasonable. Put food on your plate at dinner but don't pile it on. A few chips with my sandwich. I fail at times like how many slices of pizza I should eat but if you try to be reasonable most of the time you should be alright.

Well, you guys have made me feel better about no Dunkin Donuts here. It seems there are many things (food) that have been changed over the years and aren't as good as they once were. Best to just have the good memories.

Looks like a professional picture of a cat posing. I like it.

On the subject of Dunkin Donuts....they left Oregon a long time ago and I miss them terribly. Grew up eating the best donuts ever and used to stop in for a coffee sometimes on the way to work. That irks me today still.

Jim Seals of Seals and Crofts passed away, 80 years young
TonyK replied to DrKerry's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Heard that yesterday and then forgot about it. Those two guys had such nice songs and harmonized so well. I used to wear a corduroy hat just like Seals in high school but not because he wore one. -
Yes, Saving Private Ryan was more real than so many other war movies. It made you "feel" the horror of war and what these soldiers went through. As a kid, I checked out every book from our school and the county library and have watched every movie about WW2 and read more books throughout life. So many things about that war were fascinating (not always in a good way) and today I am always aware of the significant dates and they should never be taken lightly.

I like to read the complaints and the praises of a kit so that I can make my decision if I want it or not. There are so many experienced modelers here that know way more than I do about past and current kits that I learn from their comments. Good or bad I want to read about it. As far as this not being a full drag kit, I didn't expect it to be but thought it might include some added parts. I should have done my home work first. Have gotten used to some of these re-released kits coming with tampo printed white lettered tires and re-tooled parts so just jumped on this one without looking more closely. Thinking I might just build an older jalopy racer or something along those lines. The opening doors and all lend itself well to that.

Big fan of the show when I was a kid and built the 1/32 version. Never thought I'd see a 1/25th scale model and the included figures will probably make me want it IF they're done well.

I have to say this is a bit different but I really like it. Excellent work on all of it.

Excellent diorama. Lots to look at and each individual item is a fine build in itself.

Peugeot 905 EV1

Very nice to look at your well built model. I had problems with the Heller kit years ago between it being a lousy kit and some minor warpage so it's good to see your well finished work. Good for you! -
Excellent! And I'm a Dan Gurney fan so I enjoy that much more.

Moebius the invisible man
TonyK replied to TNT's topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
Oh man! The diorama part of this looks like more work than the figure. The whole model looks great. -
I can remember many years ago running a Cub Scout troop/pack and we'd all go to the Military cemetery and put little flags at all the graves. It was a teachable moment for these kids that probably isn't taught at school.

I complained about this kit in another thread but will give a little info here. Bought it because the box said build a drag version but the contents don't support that very much. Kit has 4 passenger car tires, no roll bar, stock exhaust system, etc. Yes, a straight front axle, engine choices and some headers that I had to really look for to recognize them being headers. Not what I expected for drag headers. It's basically a passenger car with a couple things included as options but not what I would advertise as a drag car. Oh, the front and rear glass fit is terrible. I believe I built this car when I was a kid and know what to expect as an old tool but hoped there were improvements made and parts added for a drag car.

figure collection
TonyK replied to olmadmodeler's topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
That is a great collection and a lot of fun to look at. Thanks for sharing. I paint a lot of small figures so they don't take as much room. I like your selection of sci-fi figures. Mine are everything from the Stig to sexy women. I'd really like a Michelin man and the Road Warrior but haven't seen them anywhere. Thanks again for showing us your excellent talent and collection. -
Yellow Fever Competition Coupe, Keeler's Kustoms
TonyK replied to stavanzer's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I appreciate the reviews fellow modelers give on kits. Very helpful especially the times I'm in the mood to tackle a difficult kit and the times I want to work on a kit that isn't going to give me trouble all the way. -
Wow! Have to agree with the face stubble and hair on the chest. Adds so much to the realism. I have a couple of older vinyl ( I believe) large figures. It's a soft squeezable plastic but I've never built them as I don't know what to use for filler in the joints or what paint will stick to the vinyl.

Princess Ananka 1/8
TonyK replied to olmadmodeler's topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
That is really cool looking! You got the skin tone color just right..... if I were to guess what the skin tone should be. -
There are a couple of older kits I'd like to have as original because I remember them as a kid. I want the box and original parts so they would be worth more to me that way. I have enjoyed reissued kits that I built as a kid just to build them again.

Nicely done. The detail painting of the bag of candy adds to the whole diorama. Looks like a fun project for you. -
Seemed he would pop up here and there but I could never forget his character in American Graffiti. He was a great addition to that movie. He was 80.

Great actor in so many movies and I never tire of his different ways of laughing. It could be a sinister laugh or just plain fun that you want to laugh with him.
