  1. The original Monogram 3-window coupe (in 1/24 scale) top was stock-height. The original AMT '36 Ford chopped 3-window coupe (1/25 scale) top is quite distinctive. [Models below by 'Ron S.']
  2. I'd agree with Mark, above. Look like Halibrand magnesium racing wheels...fronts if skinny.
  3. Six re-issues have the stock-height 3-window coupe roof: AMT 2336 (1965) AMT T218 (1967) AMT T243 (1968?) AMT A136 (1973) AMT/Ertl 6591 (1983) AMT/Round2 824 (2013)
  4. Completed my first two builds of 2024 (Completed and off my bucket list!): Kits are: The new AMT 1302 Chevelle Funny Car ("Time Machine"), and AMT 30105 Chevy II "Rat Packer" (1998 Ertl re-issue), with AMT 1293 "Twister" kit decals.
  5. Here's a few more according to Stevens International...
  6. 1962 and ‘63 Chevy IIs came only with 4- and 6-cylinder engines. 1964 introduced the 283 V8 and 1965 added the 327. Some drag racers were swapping V8s into Chevy IIs for the drag strip from early on as Factory Experimentals (FX class). The AMT ‘63 Chevy II hardtop and convertible kits were produced with only a SB (327?) V8 engine with stock 4-bbl intake or optional tri-carb set-up. Why AMT put V8s in their ‘63 Chevy IIs when GM didn’t is a mystery.
  7. Those little Denman front drag tires are in the last two re-issues of the AMT '56 Ford Victoria kits by Round2 [AMT 807 (2013), AMT 1308 (2022)].
  8. Back in my early teens, that model wouldn’t have survived an afternoon of firecrackers or the pellet gun…
  9. You can also try the Revell 85-4516 '37 Ford Pickup 2n1 kit. The hot rod Ford flathead looks like a winner.
  10. When "hopping-up" my AMT '36 Ford flathead, I used hot rod flathead parts from the Revell 85-2062 (2007) '32 Ford Sedan Street Rod kit. I was pretty pleased with it. Heads and intake went easily onto the stock '36 flathead V8 block. Should do the same for the '40s.
  11. The last original-issue 1/25 scale car or light truck by the the original AMT Corp. before Lesney ownership? The Subaru Brat perhaps? (Image: Page from the 1979 AMT/Lesney catalog)
  12. P.S.: I built this very kit this past year from a used kit from eBay. Built it as a 1960s local track car.
  13. For 1956, the least trimmed model was the One-Fifty. Chevrolet offered no car that year without some side trim. If you see a '56 without side trim, it's custom or a race car. Of the '55-56-57 Chevy models, only the 1955 One-Fifty sedans and wagon had no side trim.
  14. My flathead V-8 collection from various AMT Trophy '32-40 Ford kits from over the years. The green I chose was Testors 1164 Mat O.D. Green.
  15. Re-boot of this one...?
  16. Sure hope the RMX-4551 1/25 '57 Chevy Bel Air is the Two-Door (post) Sedan kit... otherwise I'm out...
  17. The original AMT/Ertl kit from 1995 claimed the 4-speed auto trans on the box. Inside, the kit engine seems to have that same manual trans.
  18. Oh no. Another '65 El Camino in my stash! My urges say I gotta have that original-issue-style box art. The '65 Chevelle AWB kit, on the other hand, is a must-have that I've been waiting for...
  19. This is my go-to for black primer/flat black. My only compaint is that in recent years it's been going on a bit watery, which frequently requires a second coat.
  20. My hope is that they one day recreate/reproduce a stock AMT ‘64 annual Ford Galaxie hardtop body with opening hood…
  21. Very nice! Clean and looking good... I built my own "Pepper Shaker" in yellow years ago to match the late-'70s box art that... well... had to be on my shelf!
  22. I just learned about the ‘63 Ford Pickup today. Who has confirmed the reissue of the ‘67 Galaxie?
  23. Well, there’s releasing reissues, and there’s raising the dead… The latter tends to make one speechless…
  24. ...or pick up one of these (AMT-824) new or used, if cheap enough for you. (If used, make sure that it still contains those wheels.)
