  1. Been there, done that, Got the T-shirt, got the hat!
  2. Was referring to the whole movie Dr. No.
  3. I've never done that, not once. I DO, however, have boxes and boxes of half-built models that wrestled me to the ground and made me their witch. Temporarily, of course....
  4. Pluto TV (free) has most of the James Bond movies this month. Looks like most if not all of them pre-Daniel Craig. I'm planning to watch all the early Connery ones, up through at least Diamonds Are Forever. I haven't seen most of them in decades. At the moment, I'm halfway through Thunderball. Dr. No is just awful in every way. I'm surprised that anyone decided to continue with the series after that pig. From Russia with Love is a quantum advancement/improvement. Not my favorite Bond movie, but not horrible. Goldfinger is still pretty good. Lots of DB 5 action, at any rate. Still don't believe a '64 Ranchero could carry a crushed Lincoln Continental--with a million dollars worth of gold bullion (@ $32/oz!) in the trunk--though. For a while I've believed that Thunderball is my alltime favorite (and IMHO the high point of the franchise). So far I'm not seeing anything to change my mind--it's slick, it's classy, the plot is still plausible, and it's just old-school cool. Looking forward to You Only Live Twice, which I retain a favorable impression of but haven't seen in a long time.
  5. Not my style at all, but there's no denying that is a STUNNING model! Respect!
  6. I don't think you went quite as far as I did, but I agree, yours now looks 100% better than the stock kit body. Drive on!
  7. The droptop doesn't look too bad, and the sedan looks perfect for a cartoonish/T-shirt/Deal's Wheels type fun model!
  8. Nobody knows everything, but everybody knows something. The aggregate knowledge on this board is amazing!
  9. Cool project! I've been working "at" one of these kits off and on for a decade. The sticking point for me is I haven't figured out how to make more accurate/realistic headlight buckets, and I just can't stand what the kit gives you to work with.
  10. If it's a GM car, you could make one of those "Body by Fisher" chrome sills rather easily.
  11. That's looking really good! Drive on!
  12. Oh my yes! I completely forgot that because when I was a "beginner," I didn't need one. Now I do! Optivisor rules!
  13. That was my best guess, but I couldn't quite put it together.
  14. Yes, great haul. Looks like a couple quick rebuilder projects in there. What's the pink thing?
  15. Pretty clean build! Kinda odd to see leaf springs peeking out from the rear of a '66 Impala, but also kinda cool. Nice "sit." Model on!
  16. I prefer a razor saw for taking parts off the sprues. Selection of files in various shapes and sizes from micro up through a single-cut fine cut flat bastard 10" mill file (I am not kidding.) Selection of sandpapers: #280, #320, #400, #600, #800, #1000, #1500, #2000 3M WetOrDry. Ask for it by name. Pliers or channel-locks for getting old paint bottles open. Wooden toothpicks. Masking tape. I couldn't build model cars anymore without Silver Sharpies. When they stop making them, I'm going back to airplanes. Wright's Silver Cream silver polish for polishing paint and plastic.
  17. The kit hood doesn't fit much if any better. I'm gonna shim mine up much as you did when I build mine, hopefully in the near future.
  18. Pretty cool! I'm gonna have to try some of that paint, as it looks good. Model on!
  19. Amazing! My own '65 Special was a silver-gray color. Drive on!
  20. Your '55 would have dropped right on that chassis, both cars having a 115" wheelbase.
  21. I envy you! My Walmart has evidently stopped carrying G&A and GUNS so I subscribed last month. I wonder if I'll get these issues.
  22. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
  23. That happened in 2016? I don't recall seeing Minotaur competing at all this year.
  24. So, with the first quarter of the year gone, how's everyone doing on their plans? At the beginning of the year, I listed 18 hopeful projects. By this weekend I should have completed five builds, only two of which were on my list. I claim an infestation of shiny squirrels.
