  1. You talking about the '71 GTX? That's GENIUS ! I think I have a bottle of it around here, too. Will have to do some testing and see if that's it and I can make it work. THANKS!
  2. America's List got off to a great start last night! The whole interaction between JJ and Ryan Martin was fascinating and fun to watch. JJ's now 2-0 against him. I'm sure they'll meet again. JJ also showed a lot of class letting Scott Taylor have a disputed win. I'm sure his good karma will pay off for him down the road. I am REALLY looking forward to 11 more weeks of this!
  3. Diamonds Are Forever is on Pluto TV (FREE!) this month. I just finished watching it.
  4. I never have been. Have never owned any issue of this kit, nor wanted to--but something about this one just spoke to me. I had to bring it home.
  5. Here they are: I've got the '65 Ford apart already with no major external damage. The chassis turns out to be where the REAL glue-bomb action is and will take more work than I'd planned (which was none) to remedy. It all looks do-able, though. Planning to polish the white plastic body, and repaint the interior in the light olive green of that year. This will be my next project. The problem with the front valence on the GTX doesn't show up that well in the pics, but it definitely doesn't match. The paint appears to be some kind of yellow pearl--I have no idea what it is or if I can match it. If I can't, I'll do the lower body sides and the front valence in matte black a la the '69 GTX (and probably the hood bulge, too). The GTO would be a nice rescue project if the roof weren't glue-roached and the hood hole had been filled in dleanly. Oh well--as I said, the wheels and tires alone were worth the $5 to me. And I've already done a nice "rescue" of a Monogram '68 GTO (and two MPCs).
  6. Pat, have you considered joining one of our Bring Out Your Dead group builds? We just started a new round, which ends on June 30.
  7. That's what I meant to say.
  8. Half? Probably not. I'll bet at least half this board has gotten mail from AARP.
  9. I can confirm. I had one. Came in a set with a Ferrari Dino.
  10. I see! Looks good! Drive on!
  11. Me neither. Just last year I used some parts in a build that I've been sitting on since 1966.
  12. Same here. I suppose you could try Windex or pure ammonia, but those will damage some types of acrylics.
  13. Apply the foil and cut it to the general outline/perimeter of the emblem as close as you can. Then apply your primer and paint. The primer and paint will hide the edges of the foil. This is a bit cruder than Steve G's method, but most of us are nowhere near as skilled as he is, or as experienced with foil. As you can see from my '68 Vette above, it works fine. (One piece of foil was applied around the whole word CORVETTE, I made no attempt to cut it out around/between the letters.)
  14. Detail of this sort is for modelers with younger eyes and a longer life expectancy than I have. I only detail what can be seen with the model sitting on the shelf.
  15. They say bad things happen in threes. So that's three for you--you should be okay for a while. Good luck!
  16. And don't forget, it's a Pro Street--a heavily modified car. If you don't feel like dealing with the things, just sand 'em off, no big deal.
  17. Looking very good! Got a real late '60s "High School Hot Rod" look to it. You are gonna take all that chrome flash off around the rim of the mags, aren't you? Drive on!
  18. Revell '68-'69 Chevelle, or AMT '69 4-4-2, for two. But frankly, the body and interior of that kit aren't worthy of an updated chassis, IMHO.
  19. According to Tim Boyd's book, IIRC, the GG was a derivative kit of the Ramchargers with a new body. (Just read that passage last week.)
  20. Sweet! You couldn't have picked a better car for inspiration. (I hope to do something very similar on a '56 someday.) Drive on!
  21. Those Chevelle emblems look like good candidates for the Foil Under Paint method as Steve G and I and others often use.
  22. Looks good! A little more polishing should clean the fender emblems up perfectly. Drive on!
  23. Not a trade, but a while back I lent a semi-rare piece to ChrisBCritter to resin copy, and he returned it in perfect condition and packed better than I'd sent it out! Would do the same for him anytime! Model on, everyone!
  24. Very nice, VERY clean build, great color and finish too. Well done and model on!
  25. Local toy show day. Got three new glue bombs/rebuilders for $5 each. *VERY cleanly built, never painted, '65 Galaxie on bigs n littles with Cragars and a nice rake. Should be an easy Snake-Fu fixup. *Cleanly built and complete Monogram '71 GTX. Only problem is that the yellow paint is very thin on the front valence/skirt piece. Will have to try to match it. If I can't, not sure what I'll do with it. Maybe paint satin black below the body line, like the '69 GTX? *Monogram '68 GTO, painted purple and fairly decent at first glance. But the roof is glue-roached (why do people think you need to use half a tube of glue on the windows?) , and the hole in the hood was poorly filled. Bought it just for the wheels and tires--some nice Torq-Thrusts on some nice tires. They're worth $5 to me all by themselves. No tempting Welly diecasts at the Rite-Aid. They had a blue '68 Firebird, but I alreay have one.
