  1. Those two right there might be worth what you paid for the whole lot. Maybe more if you got a super-lucky deal. You are making me cry right now.
  2. Vamach1, I do believe you just won the Thread Hijacker of the Year award!
  3. Maybe he meant this one:
  4. Thanks! Wow, that front end pic looks like if Palmer had done a model of the Daytona Coupe.
  5. What IS that thing? (I see the Ford emblem on it.) Is there a kit or diecast available of it? I want one!
  6. I wouldn't want to drive that backbirth. But driving it would be infinitely preferable to trying to find someplace to park it.
  7. Didn't say kit instructions are always wrong (although, sometimes they actually are). Just sayin' they're not always the BEST way for YOU! The real modeler will figure it out. Improvise! Adapt! Overcome! Make it work!
  8. I spent some time this morning trying to track down a Fathom Green '69 Chevelle. No joy. Can't really see buying the red one, as I already have two Monaco Orange '69 Chevelles built from AMT kits, one with vinyl top, one without. I saw those while I was searching. If I didn't already own a Franklin or Danbury Mint (I forget which) '68 Elky (bought used and CHEAP a couple years ago), I'd have pulled the trigger on one of those.
  9. My original used B200 came with that lid, and I consider it absolutely priceless. I've used it on every airbrush I've owned since. It spent decades on my B350 and is currently connected to the C-H B150 knockoff, because the last airbrush job I did was a small one.
  10. Very, very nice! This car is on my "To Do Someday" list--thanks for showing us that it CAN be done!
  11. But you seem to have met it. Nicely done!
  12. C3/"Shark" Vettes are addictive, aren't they? I've built I think four, and have two more in the pipeline even as we speak!
  13. Paint it whatever color you want. It's YOUR model. And be sure to read my signature line below.
  14. I'm glad you did. I was just about to go looking for it, as I'm getting the itch to track down one of those Fathom Green '69 Chevelles.
  15. Dunno if they're "collector items" or not, but I have several of them, I bought them with the intention of building them, robbing them for parts, or holding them for future "swap fodder," and The Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise, I will!
  16. Oh, absolutely! It doesn't work 100% of the time (I just did another one where it didn't), but when it does it works great and gets rid of the toylike bug-eyed look. I can't STAND that! It works just as well on plastic kits, too. Have done it many times. BTW, you might think silver, chrome or foil would do it. They don't work nearly as well. Use WHITE. Trust me!
  17. Very sharp, very clean build!
  18. Mine has a different front pan and wheels. It's the one AFX posted above. And it says Welly on the chassis. While googling, I did see some Maistos that looked a lot like mine. I wonder if Maisto and Welly are the same thing, or share molds or have some kind of cooperative arrangement?
  19. PREACH IT, Brother Oldcarfan! Can I get a AY-MEN from the choir?!
  20. Yup, that's what I got, except mine's bright red like S GO 134 above. Looking at the pics above, I see the front side markers in both clear and amber. So I can go either way with that? I'd like to go amber, just to add another color and make it "mine," unless there's some reason not to. Thanks!
  21. Fabulous! Exactly what I needed to know! The posted pics are great, and with your info, I'm sure I'll be able to find others, if need be. Thanks to both of you! Is this a great forum, or what?
  22. Yes, it can remove enamel, though it might not in the time it would take to remove tape residue. Also, keep it away from clear styrene. It seems to have the weird property of "soaking into" plastic and making it brittle. The slightest pressure or torque will induce permanent stress cracks in the clear styrene, and can even make it crumble like a cookie. I've had it happen. (The plastic seems to be okay again after it's dried out for several days, though, but of course any induced stress cracks will remain.) I use lighter fluid for an airbrush paint thinner for enamels sometimes, as it has some properties that I like. But I keep it away from bare styrene these days.
  23. Doesn't really "fit" my "collection" either, but you gotta admit it's a hella cool looking car. C'mon, who doesn't love a 300SL Gullwing?

    Opal GT

Very sharp and eye-catching! I need to build one of these, finally....
