Thanks for all the kind comments, everyone. Much appreciated!

Yeah. As I said, I wonder if I'm missing one or more pieces back there. Still pondering solutions. Worse comes to worst, I'll do a full-width taillight and call it a "custom." I now have the thing disassembled and have taken a good look at it. Except for that back end, I like the overall shape better than the Johnny Lightning 1/24 diecast. The grille is better, for sure. I think I've even figured out how to re-rig the door so it aligns and will open, though I'll have to fill and re-drill the hinge (a job for J-B Weld). I'll leave the AAR-ish paint on it for now, but I might eventually repaint it as a standard HemiCuda. Thanks for looking and commenting.

They were obviously going for a corporate "branding" of that cantilever roof. The '67-'69 Cuda HT body looks less like a real ponycar and more like a mini-B body. That's why I'm beginning to like the odd thing.

I got his '69 Cuda hardtop. Now I need to figure out where/how to get or make back glass for it. It is NOT a simple shape.

Looks kinda like the Kenner Mold Master I had as a kid, all grown up.

Exactly the same here. Good product and fast shipping. I believe this is the same caster once doing bidness as Time Machine Resin.

If you cut the decals before you applied the Superfilm, the product has sealed the edges. It will take some effort to get them off the paper. BTDT. I've never had any problems with Superfilm as long as I applied it BEFORE I cut out the decals.

Round 2 December 2017 Product Spotlight

Yeah, wake me up when THAT's ready to go. -
Thanks for that link. Very interesting and entertaining, a real walk down Memory Lane.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! It's the thought that counts. And if Palmer kits are in the picture, the thought was obviously, "I had to get you SOMETHING...."

Thanks. I really enjoy polishing plastic and putting it on the shelf next to nice paint. Half the trick is judging WHICH plastic will take a polish without looking like plastic. This has mainly to do with how opaque/non-translucent it is. Not all kit plastic is suitable for one of these jobs.
-
I bought exactly one--their '66 "Mustang GTO." Really. I think right now I have about three or four Palmers in my pile, gotten only through deals on OTHER things I wanted. I'm going to actually build the '66 Corvette, just for a hoot. The others will end up as swap fodder--surely somebody will want them just for nostalgia.

Kinda like, "The early bird might get the worm, but the SECOND mouse gets the cheese," huh?

Very cool! Don't think I've ever seen a '69 Vette in Fathom Green, which is a cool color. Had to check to make sure it was available on Corvette that year. It was. I KNOW I've never seen a model of one, so, drive on! I have that '69 kit molded in orange. I'm going to build it soon and I'm going to polish the plastic, just because I don't have any other orange polished plastic models. I need it for my rainbow set. I also have the Revell 3-car set with the small block hood, but have never opened it so didn't know it was molded in yellow. Cool! I might do that one in polished plastic, too. I'll be following this with interest. I must own a dozen copies of various iterations of the Revell '68-'69 Vettes but the only one I've ever actually built was the Baldwin Motion one. Great start, drive on!

Haven't found it here yet, but did find on the net. The wheels we were discussing at the time turned out to be limited production Gene Winfield Terra Thrusts. I'm not 100% sure that's what's on the car in your pic but they are the wheels in the AMT T kits. More here: http://www.hotrod.com/articles/defining-hot-rod-and-custom-car-legacy-wheels-part-3/

Those look very similar to the wheels in most issues of AMT's '25 T kits. There was some discussion about them on here a while back. I'll see if I can find it.

I'm going to talk him into giving the Silver Sharpie a try soon, and that will take care of it.

I would rather vote for someone who will make model car building great youthing.

Every time I think I have a great new idea, I find out that someone else has already done it first. This is why I am not filthy rich.

From last month's local toy show: Original JoHan '66 Toronado promo with factory paint (either Trumpet Gold or Sienna Mist, I'm not sure what it's supposed to be). Very nice, undamaged, only a couple tiny scratches in the paint, and the interior appears to be molded in black. Only glitch is that most of the chrome is gone from the top surface and the right side of the rear bumper--you know how thin JoHan's chrome was and how easily it wore off or just disappeared. This one's so nice I might just clean it up real good and leave it unmolested.
