  1. Very nice!
  2. I really like where you're going with this! A little black paint on those wheels, and some more of the body trim detailed and it'll be a standout. Drive on!
  3. Quoted for truth. Electrics will replace gas/diesel when they can compete on their own (I.e., without government subsidies and welfare) in the free market.
  4. I don't know why they don't reissue the '63 Vette roadster. And better yet, they should restore ALL the tops it ever came with--the hard top, the all-clear hard top, the panel wagon top, and the custom fastback top. Maybe the cut-down wraparound windshield and the slot car tonneau cover w/driver, too. How cool would THAT be? I'd have to buy three or four more of them.
  5. I'm really not that interested in building models of coal-powered cars (which is what electrics really are, after all--or, in some cases, nuclear).
  6. I have one of these too. Have had it for decades. I don't remember when or where I got it, or why. And I've never used it. One of those things that just magically appears on your workbench or in your stashpile one for no evident reason....
  7. Understated and surprisingly cool!
  8. Cool! Good to know. You can really "amaze your friends" as they say with nicely polished raw plastic.

That's pretty sharp looking. One of your best yet!
  10. That one would look great with the green plastic polished. It's very close to a real color called Anti-Establish Mint (a friend of mine had one). I know you just got some good plastic polish. Put it to work! Your black AMX would also look awesome with the plastic polished. I just did a '71 Cuda that way and it looks amazing.
  11. Yes. AMT '63-'67 Corvettes. I'll build 'em new, I'll restore cleanly built originals, and I'll strip and completely rebuild glue bombs. I only have 5 or 6 finished, but I must have more than two dozen of the things (NOT counting NIB '63 reissues for parts--prolly have another dozen of those) awaiting Snakification, with four or five under active construction at the moment. And the AMT '67-'68 Camaros. I've finished three and am getting in the mood to do another one very very soon. I'd also say the MPC (now AMT) '69 Camaro, but I just finished my fifth and probably last one of those. I don't think I'll be doing another one of THOSE. Five is enough. (Maybe.)
  12. Very sharp, clean build! Well done and model on!
  13. And for those of you who think Simon's a jerk, you need to check this one out, too:
  14. Now you're making me want to jump in, too. Group build?
  15. Not generally, but once in a while I do. I've been working on one off and on I call The Texas Sniper. It's all done in shade of gray and black, and on the front seat will be a photo-reduced 1966 Life magazine with that title on the cover.
  16. She'd be an extremely talented singer and songwriter if she were "normal." The fact that she's completely deaf makes her a wonder and a miracle. And, as you say, an inspiration. Kids, this is what the word "awesome" is for. Now, please stop misusing it.
  17. Simon seems to be a completely different person than he was on the early seasons of Idol.
  18. Very very nice--much badder than Badman!
  19. Me too. I also have an eBay rescue glue bomb in the stash. Will be eager to see what you do with yours. I'm trying to find out if any of these were built in Verdoro Green. It was a 67 1/2 Firebird color, so theoretically should have been available on '67 Bonneville, but I haven't been able to confirm this.
  20. If you can watch this and keep dry eyes, well...you just ain't hooked up right.
  21. Very nice! The body details on the stock versions of the Revellogram '65 Vette are simply exquisite. AND it's got the only '65-'66 big block hood you can find these days (unless you can turn up an original MPC '66, or ordered a hood from that kit from Modelhaus in time).
  22. Here's my latest slump-buster: Revell snapper Concept Camaro. Didn't paint it (except for the standard details and such), so I substituted "scribe" and "polish" for the paint step. Spent most of the time on this one rescribing all the door and panel lines, which really helps the finished look. Easiest body I ever polished out--did it all with Walmart Trim nail sticks; didn't have to use my beloved Wright's Silver Cream for anything. (It's actually shinier in real life than it looks in the pics.) Rather than spend a lot of time laboriously hand-brushing the wheel spokes with a flat aluminum or steel, as I usually do, I just rattlecanned the entire chrome wheels with a clear satin (or flat, I forget which I used). It don't get more "out of the box" than this.
  23. Very nice! You can "make do" with a commonly available '69 Corvair, if you're not too picky about small details, and don't forget the Corvette!
  24. Hobby Lobby had the 39.95 Lawman marked down to a reasonable $24.99, so I grabbed it.
