  1. I saw a magnificent '69 GS convertible--light yellow--Sunday. The '68-'69 Skylarks are of no particular interest to me. I'd be all over a '64-'65, though, or a '67, or even a new-tool '66 (even though I have at least four restorable glue bombs in the Snakepit).
  2. Very nice, very clean build!
  3. I dunno, but I'd be a customer for at least a couple. We have the resources right here on the board. Someone has the grille, someone else has the casting skill. Fellas?
  4. Fabulous! These Italeri Ferraris are often overlooked and underrated, but they can be built up into magnificent models, as you so ably demonstrate.
  5. Very sharp! Really captures the feel of the early '60s. Well done!
  6. Very sharp, as we've come to expect from you.
  7. Wow, a couple of those beasties look like Bruce McCall designed them. Or maybe Gahan Wilson. (Let's see how many get those references.)
  8. I'll take at least two. Maybe more!
  9. Back in the day, some of their stuff was regarded right up there with AMT. In fact, their Pontiacs in particular--Firebirds and GTOs--were very desirable kits. The problem with this one is the same as their problem with the '69 Camaro--instead of doing it right and tooling up all-new body sides with the character line raised a couple inches, as on the real cars, they tried to "convert" the '67-'68 body with its mid-body character line to the '69 type. Interestingly, their Camaro is noticeably too narrow, while their Firebird is darn close to the correct width. You could make an accurate '69 Firebird by starting with the Revell '69 Camaro body and grafting on the MPC Firebird front end, rear panel, cowl, and a few other changes. FAR too much work for me (I like the '67-'68 Firebird body better), and about five minutes after I got it finished, Revell would announce an all-new kit.
  10. Finally got around to "rechroming" the back bumper with Rub N Buff. It came out much better than I'd even hoped! Fingers crossed that the front one will come out well too....
  11. I just won a couple of goodies from TMR on eBay, which seems to be Time Machine. They looked good in the pics and the price wasn't bad. We'll see how long they take to arrive. Fingers crossed....
  12. Nice work! If you're putting this kind of effort into the exhaust pipes, it'll be interesting to see what you do to fix those taillights. Model on!
  13. I always liked her. Very sad news.
  14. I was just about to suggest the same thing. You beat me to it. Great idea!
  15. Very nice! I love the brown on the Dart. What paint is that? I've been looking for something like that.
  16. Decal yellowing can often be cured by taping the decal sheet on the inside of a window that gets a lot of sun (or on the package tray of your car) for a period of time--it can take days or weeks. I've had a great deal of success "bleaching" very old model airplane decal sheets this way. And then give the decal a nice coat of Micro Superfilm.
  17. You've just demonstrated why I build so many "stripe delete" projects.
  18. You did about as well as can be done with that old crock. I'll look even better if you detail those Rally II wheels with some black, dark metallic gray, and flat aluminum paint. Yeah, I know, it's a pain (I've done many of them), but it really does add a lot to the look of a build.
  19. Look in the Tip and Tutorials section for my thread on "Fauxberglass." Your problems here would be a perfect use of that technique.
  20. Very sharp! Love the color and the upholstery!
  21. I just did one like that in black, which I also shot on the lower body and the tailgate panel. Just took a lot of masking tape. If I were doing one in white, I'd shoot the white first, then mask that and shoot the blue. (The one I'm working on came already painted blue and I kinda liked it so I'm working with it.)
  22. I built the 4-4-2 when it first came out. My only problem was finding a good match for the gold engine color. Otherwise, it went very smoothly, no construction problems at all and no shape/accuracy problems that I found, or have noticed since. This is what ALL model cars should be like!
  23. Thanks for all the nice comments, everyone! Y'all are getting me in the mood to drag that red one out and do it too....
  24. Do the roadster one too. If you can find the roadster molded in dark metallic blue with tan interior, it polishes out magnificently!
  25. Did you get the wheels yet? The PO girl said you should get them (last) Monday. I've got a tracking number if they haven't shown up yet.
