  1. You might find the tractor paint doesn't react the way normal enamels do. We used them at a previous job and it was awful to flat, even after 2 months it gunked up the wet n dry paper. The boss tried using the machine polisher on it and it wrecked the mophead with the amount of colour that came off. We found out later that its just a spray and forget type of thing to be used on industrial stuff where the finish isn't so important
  2. Cool, I just finished one of these last week. You'll find the plastic on the wheels will show throught he paint more than most reds do
  3. Very nice, the colour looks particularly nice on the mk1
  4. Sweet, one of my fav rally cars when i was a kid. it was always fun to watch them drifting 25 years before it got popular
  5. those radars are nice wheels, I've recently got a set. I can happily recomend their brm and sprintstars too. The ss are staggered unlike the other aircooled rims from uscp
  6. I hadn't seen this before but I'll be trying it soon cos I gotta model a thats stalled out on the interior and this looks like a good way to sort that out.
  7. I use spray cans in my booth regularly. No issues other than sometimes forgetting to put the hose out the window
  8. This just got off the boat. Maybe not that unusual in the US, but in Orkney this is very unusual and makes a nice change from the fairly large number of new mustangs and ranger pick ups. sorry pfor the poor pic
  9. when your partner tells you that you have too many models and you have to sell some, but you really dont want to. Of course its worth that much honey, you tell her knowing you wont have to part with any (and if you do you can buy a load more)
  10. Thats pretty cool. There's modelling in the last series of agants of shield too, looked to be monogram and revell kits from the early/mid eighties
  11. They dont seem to be covering the comment box now, thanks Dave
  12. heres a pic of the original issue contents (and a few from the 57 chevy kit in white) I believe the recent reissue has the same parts, but the showboat version does not
  13. I'm not allowed the medicine that helps myconstant pain because someone deemed it illegal long before I was born. Instead my only option is opiate painkillers and diazepam and to be unable to work because of the many side effects. I'm not ready to retire at 45 and i want to keep working but to get the thing that helps i have to be dying first which I'm not planning any time soon.
  14. Is anyone else finding the reply/comment box filled with an ad? They are covering the part for pics and most of the box, when I try to post a thread and it seems pointless to not put pics of the models along with the description of it. Its happening on every thread for me except this one funnily enough
  15. I'm sure the opel I built had different wheels to the box art but it was a while ago and the model is long gone. I seem to remember the wheels were more of a spoked look (not wires)
  16. For me its because I have trans kits for some of them or its just kits I have more than one plan for or even because some of them are parts goldmines. Also some were too cheap to turn down (trade fodder)
  17. Yeah its a very simple kit and i probably paid too much for it since my plan is a x pack kit and cossie engine on some wide wheels. I tried what I think is a 80s mustang chassis under it and it should fit with a little trimming. I'll not be using the kit headlights either as i like the early mk2 square lights better so the spares from the belkits mk1 escort will be used instead. I'm going to have to reshape the bumpers too so they are more uk spec mk2 versions but it should be pretty simple to thin them down.
  18. Couple of arrivals today. I've been after the capri for far too long (before i was a vw guy, i was a ford guy) and the morris was just too cool looking to turn down
  19. I bet most of the cost is the free shipping. When I order paint they charge an extra £60 for shipping inside the uk.
  20. Built from the revell snap kit and weathered with humbrol enamels using one brush (not cleaned between colours) and while the paint was still sticky I put it in a bag with powdered rust and gave it a gentle shake. I wasn't sure how to weather the chrome so I just left it as it was
  21. Great idea that looks very promising, and I'm sure with a few more shots at it you'll get them even now you have proof of concept. I'm thinking out loud here but making a backing part for the other side would help with the consistancy. Maybe if you tap the chisel into an alu block or some hard wood. I saw a program where Gene Winfield described how to get them to go around corners/edges evenly too that was putting a point in the centre of the louvres so when you bend the metal they stay true to those on the flat parts and I think your method would work for that too.
  22. Great trade with modlbldr. His end arrived from the usa before I got my end posted today. Great speed from usps too, 7 days for an international delivery to scotland. Thankyou Tom
