  1. in theory they should fit as the zackspeed 4 would be a crossflow or pinto based engine and both were available in the escorts. You would need to fabricate a complete engine bay as the belkits chassis has no relation to an escort bay (or buy one of the excellent scale production bays) but italeri/revell did most of that on their mk2 escorts already if you fancied some kit bashing. The mustang imsa was just a rebodied zackspeed capri under the skin anyway and they were evolutions of the zackspeed escorts so i'd say go for it. incidentally zackspeed were getting 6 and 700 bhp out of 1.4 engines during this time
  2. humbrol poly cement for plastic but its been hard to find recently so i've been using revell. its a little thinner than the humbrol. for resin, pe and prints i use the cheapest superglues from the pound shop. if theres less than 8 in the pack i dont buy them. i've been experimenting with tamiya glues but i'm not ready to use them on a model yet. for flocking i use humbrol gloss enamels in a close colour and for small pe i use sometimes use clear enamel
  3. freaky cool, looks just like one i found on flickr the other day
  4. does it come in a pair?
  5. it makes perfect sense, have you seen the price of porsche v8 parts?
  6. all the kings horses and all the kings mem couldn't put humpty together again but i'm sure we could if we used modern glues
  7. use 2 nuts and you can stop them loosening in the same way as tie rods on your 1/1s
  8. you could try a small vice with some soft padded jaws. you should find them near wood lathes at your local tool emporium. make sure the pads aren't the cheap rivetted ones cos they are trash. these jaws are for holding round items.
  9. does it fit to a loose part? if it does you could glue it in place then trim it afterwards.
  10. The reason the ford pump rebuild worked on the 35 was ford continued to licence the hydraulic system. There may have been external differences (i only know of a couple of 9n locally and they are both imports but theres a lot more pre war fordsons) but the insides hung around for a good while. The petrol 35s used an engine from the standard vanguard car after the ford engines dried up. incidentally its estimated that between 75 and 90 per cent of the fords and fergies still exist
  11. have you tried a cutting compound like t-cut on a q tip. you'd have to wash it after but it should take it off
  12. Well, this is still delayed. I'm waiting on tamiya paints to get restocked at the local shop. I used duplicolour on the chassis and some of the finer detail was lost so since there is a lot of nicely detailed parts i'll wait for tamiya.
  13. if you strip the plastic from small female electrical bullet connectors you get left with a short nicely flared exhaust tip. afew seconds in a drill with some metal polish and they shine up nice.
  14. whos your service provider? i changed from EE to talktalk at the start of the year and it sped everything up. I also went to no limits as that gets eaten up just loading pics. If you look for gaming compatible you get t faster too
  15. crate kid can be seen on netflix
  16. this is more evolution of technology. they couldn't invent a powered aircraft but they did play with baloons and gliders. the technology for powered flight couldn't happen before oil was discovered, not because of the lack of fuel but because no-one had a seemingly useless product to find a use for until then. most technology is designed for a need and very little is the massive leap we see from glider to jet but even those could be understood by people from back in those times as the principles are the same, theres just thousands of tiny creeps forward in technology of difference.
  17. i've got a 1/24 toilet lighter. i was thinking to do a taco shop bathroom dio, lol
  18. if there a fisn tank maker near you they could be a good starting point. you would need fishtank glass anyway as its toughened (water is heavy) and they may have tank fittings that would work too
  19. arrived in scotland today
  20. i see a lot of cool stuff but the pre 40 stuff and the 59 gm cars has most interest for me just now, but my mood changes with the wind so tomorrow might be 60s muscle, lol
  21. wow, every time i look i find another detail i missed, nice job
  22. some of the grilles are available from a designer called king-3d on cults and I'm sure i've seen some other conversion parts too
