What did you see on the road today?
stitchdup replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
todays most interesting car was an old volvo. its not a special edition or anything but it only has 8500 miles on it and a sign telling about the first car to visit a wee hamlet. most of my other pics are derelict sheds -
dementia always does this. its sad and awful but the worst part is watching it happen and knowing you can only comfort them. and if things happen such as falls or going for a wander late at night dont beat yourself up over it. its part of the disease and sadly it seems to affect men much worse than women. you have a tough road ahead but there are a few of us on here that you can turn to for advice or just to vent your frustrations at. we've been there and we understand. when the folk I've cared for have passed i didn't feel sadness, just relief it was over but that doesn't mean we dont care, we just saw both sides of the story. one thing i found that helped was going through old photos and items from when they were younger, as dementia seems to trap folk in another time than they are living in. its an awful disease. if you have a sick sense of humour it will help you get through it and its ok to laugh if something dumb happens, and its better for your mental health than crying over it. its not even really anger when they seem annoyed, its frustration at not understanding how time feels like its jumped 40 or 50 years into the future for them. if you need to vent feel free to pmor if you need to vent without cencorship i can give you my email, you wont offend me

Rather than fill the what did you see thread i'll do this seperate thread. The show is at the weekend but until then there are a few road runs. The jag wagon is the real deal jaguar built and is the only one left. We had to go in groups of 5 cars so as not to block the locals. Tomorrow will have more cars as the ferry is full ti friday. There are a few scenery pics but most include the cars

Today i got to see one of the rarest jaguars in existence. This is a real jaguar built test car and is still owned by jaguar. 2 were made but one was destroyed during testing. There are coachbuilt versions around but this is the real deal, genuine jaguar wagon -

I've travelled to an island group further north than my home. I am attending their local classic car show at the weekend so we have taken the simca and the corsair this time. We will be doing a fewroad tours with other classics so i should have pics all week. Heres the group we travelled north with. and heres a couple of cars owned by friends who made us breakfast. He had 3 more cars in carcoons so i couldn't get a decent pic of them -

THE FRANKENTRUCK
stitchdup replied to mrm's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
its based off the heller delahaye, in fact its delahaye right up to the back edge of the roof. the heller kit would give you an interior too but heller like to mold the door panels and side glass as one piece so if your body is chopped it wont work -
